5.0   -   Private get-away but close to local attractions

This property was exactly what we hoped for - lovely outdoor spaces to watch the local wildlife, very clean, quiet, comfortable, and close to Saguaro National Park, Desert Museum, and local restaurants. Perfect place for 2 couples - with each couple having the privacy of their own bedroom and bathroom. Would absolutely rent this property again.

We are a family of four, visiting our Tucson/Oro Valley based mother/mother-in-law/grandmother. We were hoping to see something of the real Arizona countryside during our stay rather than just the usual cityscape. The Lazy C homestead was a perfect choice. The house is homely and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities, and the setting is delightful. Seeing the birds was a constant pleasure, and the occasional coyote a thrill for us Londoners. We bought a big Christmas tree which fitted perfectly under the high ceiling of the living room, and we celebrated Christmas around the fire which was a joy. However, we also needed to make many trips to Oro Valley and downtown Tucson, and the location of the homestead within easy reach of the Interstate made this quite quick and painless. The owners, Becky and Daryl Hiser, were very responsive, kind and helpful. We had a really excellent and memorable stay.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. This home was delightful. Furniture was very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed and more! The decor was charming and the house was very clean and definitely a lot of attention to details. The outdoors was perfect! We couldn´t have asked for a better setting! Comfortable seating areas-perfect for a cup of coffee in the mornings while watching the birds and in the evenings with a glass of wine. There was also a nice grill my husband enjoyed! Very private, but close to anything you need. We ended up changing some of our Tucson plans so we could just stay and relax and enjoy the house! Perfect, relaxing weekend. Thank you!!

5.0   -   Quiet and peaceful.... Just what we were looking for and we found it at the Lazy C.

This property isn´t a new and fancy place to stay. It is an older building but is up to date on all of the essentials. The mornings were the best time of day to just sit, drink coffee, and watch the birds. The grounds are well maintained with various plantings of cactus. The pool is a short walk down the hill and is very relaxing but doesn´t have a lot of shade. If I were recommended any improvements, it would be to replace the air conditioner in the back bedroom with a quieter model and to add a ceiling fan in the family room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lazy C Homestead. The house was very comfortable and Becky and Daryl were friendly and helpful if we had any questions. They kept the bird feeders filled and we enjoyed watching the many birds. We spent many hours reading and relaxing on the porch. You really feel like you´re in the desert when you look around and see so many types of cactus. There are views of the mountains and the city of Tucson looks pretty at night when lit up. We saw javelina, coyote, deer, lizards, roadrunners and bunnies. We love Tucson and we´re planning to return to the Lazy C Homestead.

We had a lovely, long vacation at the Lazy C homestead where we enjoyed many hours reading on the veranda and watching wildlife. The house was spacious and clean, located close to many sites for outings, and well maintained by Becky and Darryl who were very helpful if we needed anything. We felt comfortable and at home and can't wait to go back next year.

5.0   -   Beautiful desert location with homey feel

We were very happy with the accommodation and setting of this gem. We were traveling with two small children and they enjoyed the house, watching the birds, boars and rabbits as well as the pool. The area around the home is beautifully maintained, I am not usually so fond of the desert (heat), but this place had me in love with it. The kitchen was well appointed for eating in, and we had a rough day prior to our stay so once we had provisions we didn't want to go anywhere. I wish we could have stayed longer and I hope we can come again. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Tucson area.

This was our 3rd time staying at The Homestead and we have already reserved our stay for next year. It's one of the most relaxing places a person could ask for. Daryl and Becky are great hosts! Responsive to everything and Becky keeps the bird feeders filled to attract birds all day long. It's like being alone out in the desert, yet you are only minutes from just about everything in the Tucson area. Highly recommended!

Becky and Daryl are wonderful hosts, the home is comfortable and spacious, the views of Tucson and the surrounding hills are gorgeous, and the property abounds with desert plants, birds and wildlife. Great area for birding, both on the property and at the nearby parks. During our stay, groups of deer and javelina passed through in the early evening. We're hoping to visit again!

We had a lovely holiday at the Lazy C homestead. The privacy of the beautiful yard was wonderful- could have easily stayed on the porch to watch the world go by for the entire trip. My father-in-law has limited moblilty and the house setup was ideal. We had one small mechanical issue which Becky had fixed promptly. She is a pleasure to work with. We left with super memories - thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Lazy C! The hosts were very welcoming, even leaving us a few home baked goods to enjoy and loaning our children black light flashlights for finding scorpions! The location is very convenient for accessing the Western portion of Saguaro National Park, Tucson Mountain Park, and the Sonoran Desert Museum (which we HIGHLY recommend). We all enjoyed spending time at the home, relaxing on the porch, watching birds, sunset, and other wildlife.

This is a delightful place to stay in Tucson. Beautiful landscaping and the fragrance of fruit trees in the air. Comfortable and quiet, yet minutes from the freeway. Our family of 5 members and 3 generations had everything we needed. The owners have clearly put a lot of work into making this a lovely place to be. I really had no reason to leave the property!

Close to the edge of town, with Sonoran native vegetation all around home. Owners keep bird feeders full, so guests can enjoy watching birds while relaxing in the shade on east and south side of house. We saw coyotes and javelina walk through the property. Nice barbecue area available too. The house is a nice combination of rustic charm while clean and nicely furnished and updated tastefully. Owner lives nearby and came over to welcome us and give us some history of the place as well as tips on local sites and places to eat. Very friendly. We got up at dawn on both days of our visit and walked around the property taking great photos of suguaro, cholla, and prickly pear cactuses, curve-billed thrashers, cardinals, cactus wrens, white-winged doves, etc. Very beautiful! There are other houses in the vicinity but while at the house and yard there is a sense of privacy. This is a great alternative to staying at a motel. We loved it and would rent again if and when we return to Tucson.
