5.0   -   Great wonderful old historic house to stay in
Reviewed on Apr 18, 2019
Live in Phoenix area. For years we have always stayed at Loews Ventana, and although they advertise as being pet friendly, our recent experiences with them have been anything but that. In addition to being as great for our bow-wow's, we enjoyed everything about this house and its location in an historic central area of Tucson and it's closeness to our favorite restaurants in Tucson.. Besides being very beautifully renovated inside, the yard was beautifully done, enjoyed just sitting outside with a glass of wine. Only negatives I have are petty. It's the only VRBO or Airbnb place so far that did not provide coffee or have a bottle of wine and some food goodies for you on your arrival, but like I noted, these are petty and am looking forward to booking there again when we come to Tucson. Would recommend this place to anyone, Terry & Sue Solomon

5.0   -   Great house and location

Loved the University house. It was very clean and well maintained and stocked. Great central location. Parking was on street only but looked and felt like a safe neighborhood. Nice Spanish style home with all the comforts needed. There is also a guest house should you have another party traveling with you and only require a studio. It was very nice inside. Lisa was very responsive to any questions and concerns we had. Home has a nice outdoor patio to relax and have coffee, wine and enjoy the back yard landscaping. Will definitely stay here again if available . Thank you again Lisa for allowing us to enjou your home . Joe & Kathy(DENVER )

You'll love staying in this charming, well-cared for historic Tucson home. It's well-equipped for couples or a family with a lovely, private patio and large eating areas inside and out. Furthermore, it is centrally located with easy access to the University of Arizona, the Arizona Inn, golfing, etc. Enjoy!

 5.0   -   Wonderful property!

This was our second stay at this lovely property for cycling around Tucson. As before, the house was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The location is perfect for cycling, having easy access to a wide variety of routes and The Loop cycleway. A very nice addition since our last visit was the casita behind the main house (available for a small extra charge) which afforded our married friends additional privacy and allowed everyone a bit more space. The owner Lisa was again very helpful, friendly, and communicative. The central courtyard is great for afternoon post-ride relaxing, conversation and snacks. We hope to return many times in the future. Many thanks again to Lisa!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the University House. The house is comfortable and very cute. We especially enjoyed the very private yard. The house is in the middle of the city but you wouldn't know it while enjoying outdoor time. We loved the landscaping and variety of plants and shrubs in the yard. Lisa was very accommodating and always available while respecting our privacy. I hope we will have the opportunity to stay again.

Perfect place for our family. Great location near U of A and downtown. The house is bigger than it shows in the pictures and landscaped patio was fantastic. All the amenities we needed were included. The use of the guest house was an added bonus for our nanny.

Two friends and I stayed here for a week in mid-November to do some road cycling. The house is in an excellent location close to the University, many good restaurants and centrally located to lots of good cycling routes. The house itself was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, well-equipped kitchen, speedy WiFi and very comfortable. The courtyard patio was great for breakfast and post-ride re-fueling. Lisa, the owner, was very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. We´ve stayed in a number of VRBO´s in the Tucson area, and this is one the best if not THE best! Thanks again to Lisa; I look forward to staying here again!!!

Stayed at this property for twelve days in August, so the most important part of the review may be how well the air conditioning worked!!! Great location to stay when attending University of Arizona events. A real 'home away from home' with all the amenities. Quiet neighborhood. Owner is very thorough with communication.

This is a lovely older home in the Sam Hughes area just west of Campbell. It's spacious and comfortable and has everything you need. The back has a covered patio and it's fenced if you have a dog, but it's desert landscaping. The house has kept its original character despite some updating. The living/dining/kitchen part of the home is especially roomy and there's a desk in the sunroom (it has a sunroom!) if you need one. The TV is nice and accommodates Netflix -- a big plus for me. The wifi works fine. The A/C unit struggled while I was there but that was in an unusually hot week in the summer. Even then it cooled down enough to sleep at night comfortably with the ceiling fan on. With a little more updating inside and out this place would rate a 5. It's a bargain in terms of size and comfort, and I would stay there again.

This house has a really nice yard and a lovely kitchen. It was very comfortable and charming. The only possible negative is that it was super hot the weekend we were there (111) and the air conditioner struggled a bit, but it was still very nice.

The University House exceeded our expectations in so many ways! Lisa keeps the property in amazing condition. We had every comfort of home. The location was perfect for us as we were attending our daughter's graduation at UA and were able to easily walk to the stadium. The patio was charming and inviting and since the weather cooperated we were able to enjoy it while sitting outside watching the playful birds and geckos. Lisa was even thoughtful enough to leave us a beautiful card and bottle of wine to help us celebrate! Thank you for sharing your home and when we are ever in Tucson again we will certainly stay here.
