House is located just slightly off the beaten path, so if you are looking to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet, great location. View of the Catalina Mountains is terrific, and if you are inclined to watching either sunrise or sunset, you can do both. We really enjoyed our time there.

If you´re looking for rest, relaxation in a beautiful home with a gorgeous view, Mira Montes is the place for you. It´s so beautiful we rarely left the property. The house comes equipped with all the comforts of home. The house is clean, spacious and welcoming. The kitchen has all you need to make meals, because you don´t want to miss the beautiful sunsets. We thought about going out for dinner, but knew there was no place that could beat the views at Mira Montes. Star gazing on the rooftop deck in the hot tub was amazing. The same goes for sun rises. Elma and Hans were the most gracious hosts. Hans greeted us and showed us around inviting us to take and use one of his mint plants during our stay. He also offered to take us hiking. Elma met us on the day of our departure. We could have talked for hours. Their hospitality was above and beyond. Thank you, Hans and Elma for a wonderful stay in your lovely home. We hope to meet again, as we´d love to return.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! The house is very well appointed and everything you need is there! Nice and quiet with so many birds to see! We took the trails right from our back yard. You could hike as many miles you want just have the All Trails App with you - every little trail is on it - never get lost! We would definitely come back!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this lovely home with a beautiful view of the mountains. My husband especially liked hiking the nearby trails. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The weather was unusually chilly during our stay so we weren´t able to enjoy the spacious patio. Hans and Elma were wonderful hosts. We are looking forward to renting this property in the future. Everything about this property is outstanding! It's a bit remote, but pays big dividends in privacy, unmatched mountain vistas, magnificent sunsets and more! The owners have presented travelers with an immaculate, inviting, beautifully appointed home ~ no detail left undone. Staying here for a week made us want to move to Arizona!😂 Everything is perfect ~ wonderfully inviting, open floor plan, fully equipped gourmet kitchen with adjoining laundry and walk-in pantry, plush leather furniture, comfy beds, oversized master shower overlooking the mountains... outside, huge, fully furnished covered patio, overlooking a gorgeous Pebble Tec pool and mountains beyond... there's a spiral staircase from the patio to the roof where you can simultaneously enjoy the hot tub and breathtaking sunsets in total privacy... our only visitors were a few free range cattle! If the Tucson area is your destination, do not miss MiraMontes... a priceless jewel in the desert!

The house is a perfect getaway for 1 or 2 couples or a family in a perfect landscape with outstanding views. The house is huge, is very well equipped and has a beautiful pool and even a rooftop Jacuzzi for the colder saison. Bring your groceries before heading to the house (Basha´s is great) because it´s a way to go (10´) on a gravel road.

Bring food to prepare while you stay and you'll never need to leave. On the other hand, the drive into Tucson is not bad. Plenty of great Mexican food and other things there. Tons of stuff to do within 30 mins to 2 hours of the house. The views from the back porch and pool are amazing. Laying on a pool float or sitting in the hot tub at night is perfect for stargazing. Owners are great and easy to work with. Definitely on the shortlist of vacation destinations for the future.

Everything was going fine until we had to call for an escort to the property because it was somewhat remote. We had received an email with information on who to call (property manager). Upon calling the property manager we found out that she was no longer managing this property. We then called the owner to get directions and make sure that the home was ready. The home was easy enough to find so no problem there. Upon entering the home everything looked great. However, after unpacking and getting settled we noticed that things were not as clean as could be expected. So we did a little cleaning. After that things were much improved. The location is exceptional. Quiet and very peaceful. Very relaxing in the morning sitting out by the infinity pool in the sunshine. Lots of things to do locally if that´s what you want. All in all we would rate it 4 out of 5 stars only because of the poor start ( proper information would have been nice).

My wife and I spent a week here for our anniversary because we wanted a place off the beaten path and so we chose this home. This would not be for everyone because it is very remote and at the end of a long rough road , but we found that to be just what we wanted. The house had everything that we needed including a well equipped kitchen. We ate all of our meals here even though there is every type of restaurant available not far away, when you have a setting like this it is hard to not prepare your meals and dine looking at the mountain backdrop, there are multiple grocery stores nearby so we just made up a meal plan for the week and cooked our own meals. We did go out and see some of the local attractions but always made it back to have a drink and watch the sunset , coffee and morning sunrises were also spectacular. The house was very clean and the bed that we slept in very comfortable, the many collectables that the hosts have acquired and display were very interesting to admire and give the home a real personal look into there lives. The owners are very friendly and easy to deal with, I recommend this mountain getaway to anyone looking for privacy, something different and out of the ordinary.

This is a hidden gem! Beautiful surroundings with an incredible view of the Catalina mountain range! Quiet, and very serene. The 2 br house is very big and the kitchen amazingly well stocked. The exterior is handsome with infinity pool and hot tub on the deck above! Dirt road to there, a couple of bumpy's and then... wow! We chose to eat in as it was hard to tear away from the R and R! Hans V (owner) is not only a gentleman but full of knowledge and kindnesses... cannot await our return!

Amazing accommodations with beautiful panoramic views of the mountains over the infinity edge pool. Would definitely stay again. The distance to Tucson wasn't too bad.......hiked to Seven Falls, hiked in Catalina State Park and Oracle State Park. Drove to Mt. Lemmon summit and had lunch at the Iron Door Cafݩ. Love the area and yet was able to relax on the covered patio and read and take in the views of the mountains at all times of the day.

Our party of 4 from Minnesota enjoyed our 6 night stay in this beautiful vacation rental. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded rental with a beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains, we highly recommend this stunning vacation home. Although the pool was too cool to swim in during our mid-January stay we made use of the hot tub on the roof. Star gazing and coyotes howling added to the experience. Owners Elma and Hans were a pleasure to visit with and more than gracious hosts. The home is supplied with shampoo & conditioner, hand soaps, laundry soap, and as others have noted: plentiful spices and you will never run out of tableware. The only note I would add is that I was glad our car rental was an SUV with higher clearance. Although smaller cars are able to navigate the sandy, hilly road to the rental, the majority of vehicles we met on the local road were pick ups or SUV's.

My husband & I greatly enjoyed the solitude of this home, we are birders & there was much to see just sitting in the back patio . On the roof top deck the first morning a Golden Eagle sat politely in a nearby tree for us to see. The backdrop is lovely with the huge rocks in the distance & the Catalina Mts. We love to cook & prepare our own meals, this kitchen had everything we needed. It was also wonderful to have a pantry with a few basics like spices, salt etc. The house was extremely clean. We certainly hope to return again next winter.

We totally loved our stay at Mira Montes. The ambiance and natural beauty outside combined with the tasteful decor inside the home made for a perfect getaway. The outside veranda in back provided the perfect setting for gazing at the mountains and desert scenery. The infinity pool was simply amazing and refreshing. Lots of patio furniture to relax in. Inside the home, every detail for a guest's comfort has been provided. We particularly appreciated the well-stocked upscale kitchen where we prepared all of our meals. We have stayed at many vacation properties and have never seen a kitchen that was stocked with such a variety of herbs and cooking basics as well as plenty of cutlery and dishware. Owners, Hans and Elma, were a pleasure to meet and saw to our every need. And handyman, C.J., helped us out on a couple of occasions. All in all, we definitely would like to return for another relaxing, peaceful stay.

We arrived at night and Hans was kind enough to meet us at the local grocery store to lead us up to the property. We were very pleased with the house; it was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. When we woke up in the morning it was a joy to see the magnificent mountain views. The outside patio is a perfect spot to enjoy those views. Hans has his office attached to the house so we saw him everyday. So much planning and work has been done to the house, it was very interesting to tour the property to see the sustainable elements that he has created. The kitchen is very well stocked. It was a pleasure to cook there and the house was a wonderful place to host a family brunch. We invited both Hans and Elma to join our family celebration. Our family enjoyed the day along with the the cool mountain breezes on the patio. We ate at the local restaurants and visited many of the local attractions. It was a memorable and wonderful family vacation!

My family and I arrived late into Tucson, but Hans was patiently waiting for us, with coffee and bread on hand for breakfast, to guide us to our destination. Yes, the road going to their home is rather precarious as many have pointed out, but a rather small detail when you arrive at their amazing place. The views are 2nd to none, and the home is very beautiful. The host and hostess were amazing, providing toys for our kids, checking up on us for all our needs, and just making sure our stay was everything it could be. The only comment from our end, is that perhaps one of the guest rooms have a king size bed. The beds that are there are great and comfortable, but for our travel size, a king size bed is often needed. Again, great place and customer service. Would highly recommend staying here.
