The cabin was very nice and cozy. When we arrived some delicious brownies were waiting for us. The grand kids loved the brownies. They said did Santa Claus make us Brownies Nana? We had a very good time. We went walking in the woods. The kids loved playing uno and watching movies. They enjoyed looking at the squirrels and the blue cardinals. I enjoyed sitting outside with a hot cup of coffee and breathing in the fresh air. We enjoyed the fire pit and stargazing at night with a hot cup of cocoa with marshmallows. The last day we went hiking and the grand kids collected rocks. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. It is fully furnished and has everything you need to cook. It is so peaceful. Marty is awesome!!! Very helpful. The cleaning lady and her sister were very friendly and very helpful. My daughters said that they enjoyed it very much. The cabin is big and spacious. Perfect for a big family. We are definitely coming back. :)

When we arrived there were home made brownies waiting for us (thank you!!). My husband and I stayed with our three adult children and 3 grandkids (1,3 and 6). The floor plan was open which was great as we could see the grandkids from anywhere, kitchen, living room, game area. They loved the air hockey table and the easel type chalk boards for drawing. There were also board games and puzzles. We were on a long weekend (Thursday-Sunday) and had a wedding and wedding activities going on most of the time so it was nice to have some things for the kids to do in between, especially since it was rainy outside. We took a scenic drive to Woods Lake which is very close and has a lot of nice spots to stop and take pictures. The place was clean but obvious that there are animals that either stay, or have stayed there. We did have issues with the lock boxes. It took several attempts to open the box on the house to get the key out and when we left we could not get the lock box on the dumpster to open so we had to take our garbage bag back to the house. The place was pretty easy to drive to but keep in mind that the last couple of miles are gravel roads (they were well groomed). Would recommend for families with children.

This cabin was exactly what our family of adults, teens, and toddlers needed to get away from the heat and enjoy some family bonding. The cabin is a bit of a drive from Payson but that was a big selling point. Once we turned off the 260 we were surrounded by woods and the kids were so excited to see elk, deer, rabbits, and squirrels. Once we got to the cabin we were so pleased with the big lot as it gave the kids lots of room to explore and play, while the adults could sit and relax but still keep an eye on the kiddos. The horseshoe set up and archery range were a big hit with the teen and grown men. When the kids had to come inside they still had plenty of fun playing with the air hockey game. The cabin was well-furnished inside with plenty of seating for our group and all of the beds were comfortable. As we cooked all of our meals, we were very pleased that the kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, etc. The gas grill was also great to have for cooking, especially with the no fire situation at present. All in all this was a clean, roomey cabin with lots of activities for all of us. We were all in agreement with the 5 star rating and are already looking at our calendars to see when we can come back.

Took a group of high school students on a leadership retreat to get away from their cell phones, and distractions and bond together. The Fooseball table and Air Hockey were a huge hit, and the spacious loft was perfect! They loved sitting outside and talking in the cool weather. I actually recommended this location to a family friend for their family gathering because we loved it so much! Owner and property manager were super accessible and answered all questions quickly!

We loved staying here with the family! It´s a huge house with plenty of space! We barbecued, watched family movies, played games, relaxed outside enjoying the beautiful scenery, and played foosball with the kids! It was definitely a very nice home for all of us! Marty was very responsive and kind, thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home! We dreaded leaving but it´s ok because we will return again someday. We went to Woods Canyon lake and to Willow Springs lake which isn´t too far. Great place to bring your friends and family!

We had a great weekend with family and friends. There are lots of outdoor activities that one can enjoy in the surrounding area. The cabin has all the basics and more.

We had a nice time in Payson. This place had plenty of space for the 6 of us. Lot's of trails nearby to explore. Owners of the property were awesome and quick to answer any of our questions. Thanks fo having us :)

This place was absolutely phenomenal! The living space was HUGE. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Payson area. Great experience, great people! -Dave

The setting is a dream! It sits in the middle of the forrest, you enter thru a dirt road that is not bad to transit yet it fills remote enough to give you the sense of an escapade. The house itself is super comfortable it was our first outing with a 3 month old and two small kids (if you have kids you know you "totally remote" doesn't combine well with small kids) and it was perfect, heating situation was my main concern bc of the baby but the house is well fitted for that, has all the amenities in the description, our kids were in love with the converted loft, they payed and played, we built a fire, made smores, went hiking, husband went mountain biking and the icing on the cake, the last morning we got beautiful snow that felt like feathers, and the girls got make snowballs, the right dose of winter for this year! Marty was awesome, he was always at reach and his assistant kept checking on us to find out if we needed anything. We are definitely coming back, we are frequent renters, we are frequent renters and we have places we rent on several places close to PHX that we use like our little getaways, this will b "our" place in Payson. We already told some friends about it and are planning to come back! If you are on the fence about getting this place, don't be you will not regret it!

We had a large group of family and there was more than enough room for everyone, upstairs and down. The foosball and air hockey was just great for keeping everyone not bored. The fire pit was a plus also. I recommend this place to anyone, especially with a large group..The hosts were available by messenger to answer questions and were quick to respond

The cabin is wonderful. Perfect mix of comfort and rustic. Everything we may have needed was available. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! Marty was an excellent host!

Older home with lots of beds. Plenty of parking. Kitchen had everything we needed. The trees were beautiful around the home and the weather was perfect. There was a water issue that the owner made me aware of before we arrived and he also gave me a discount because of it. He is working on resolving the issue. I would rent this again if the water is resolved.

This is a great place if you are looking for someplace to share with another family. Lots for the kids to do, and super close to lakes and streams. Beds were much more comfortable than we expected, and it was very wheelchair friendly.

This cabin was great for my family, it slept everyone comfortably. We have 2 small kids and they loved it. Marty was fantastic to deal with, I messaged him the first night and within minutes he responded. The cabin is was clean, spacious, and had the modern amenities we needed. Before our stay, Marty mentioned repairing a few items including some previous water issues. Our group didn't have any problems or complaints. We will definitely be staying here again. Everyone had a great time!

The setting is beautiful. We arrived thrilled with the location, and found the interior okay ... some furniture was new and some was ripped and old, but we were not interested in the interior but hanging outside. Then, everything turned horrible. After 4 of us drank the water (or ate vegetables/fruit washed in water), we came down with a horrible intestinal illness (both ends). Then, it got even worse. There is no (or very little) water pressure. Can you imagine waiting for the toilet to refill ... needing desperately to put what's inside of you in the toilet. It was pure torture... trying to share 2 bathrooms with the four of us. We informed Marty that there was a big problem with the water and urged him to test it immediately. I waited to write this review ... to give him a chance to do the right thing ... and I waited with no results. I tested the water myself and it came back infested with Giardia and Salmonella. So the immediate bad intestinal illness appears to be Salmonella ... but then Giardia settled in to keep the problem going. After I got the test result back, did Marty even consider refunding our payment. After all, it is utterly irresponsible of an owner not to regularly test well water and post the latest results inside the property. The answer is no. Marty may say he cares about those who stay in his place, but he clearly shows no evidence of this. It was only after I informed him of our test results that he indicated that he was getting the water tested and treated. But based on my personal experience, I do not believe him. Before staying in any property -- please do yourself a favor and insist on getting the latest water testing results that should be done regularly.

We were looking to escape the heat for a few days and this place did not disappoint. My father in law and my three boys all had plenty of space to play and sleep. The kids loved all of the space outside and various things to do. Thank you for sharing your house with us!

Our family of 10 spent a wonderful time in this cabin! We loved the fire pit and the spacious living room! It was very nice to have enough beds for everyone. The location was really nice, perfect for an afternoon walk in the neighborhood. Marty was an awesome host, he always responded our questions right away! The cabin was very clean and equipped with lots of entertainment (fun games and great wifi!!!). Having the washer and dryer available was definitely very helpful, specially when you have little kids. The only down side of our stay was that there wasn't enough chairs for everyone to sit and eat at the same time. Maybe having some folding chairs would help. Overall all, this is a great place! We are already thinking of coming back!!

Nine of us just finished up our annual girls' weekend retreat at this comfy mountain cabin and we commented multiple times how comfortable and spacious this cabin is. We had adequate seating for eating or for movie nights. The beds were comfy. Hot water was abundant for showers. The WiFi worked great. Stocked kitchen! Easy drive from Payson. It was just an amazing place to stay for a no-frills, get-away-from-it-all, relaxing time!! I'd go back to this cabin in a heartbeat and I know we were all sad to leave! Maybe we will see you for next year's retreat!
