First of all, Polly the owner was great to deal with, quick response and very helpful. Once we got there she was there if we needed her but was also not interfering. The view from the casita is amazing. In the morning you could see hot air balloons passing by, mountains galore and sunsets at night. The private hot tub was great after a long day of hiking/activities and adventures. The casita had every amenity needed. The Red Rock parking pass was a definite plus as well. The casita is centrally located and not too far from anything but yet private enough. Can´t say enough good things about Polly and her casita. Stay here you won´t regret it.

Our week at the casista was spectacular...partially because our home base was nothing short of amazing! The setting was enjoyable regarding the views, the privacy, and the amenities. Coffee on the patio watching the sun hit the red rocks with air balloons in the background, a soak in the hot tub under the stars after hiking all day, a cozy fire on a rainy evening listening to the crackle of wood combined with rain shower....peace! The location made riding the train in Camp Verde an easy excursion, along with a visit to some ruins the same day, as well as a trip to the South Rim of the Canyon....very accessible. If one doesn´t care to dine in there are many restaurants close by offering a wide variety (although the kitchen is equipped to easily prepare meals and there are at least 3 grocery stores close by) We are thankful to Polly for the opportunity to share her little piece of paradise. We hope to return soon!

October 27 to November 03, 2018 The only negative thing to say is, our stay was not long enough. This was our third time to Sedona but first time here at Polly's casita. For two people, this is the place!!! Great location. Center of town but not the center of town. Once you park and begin the walk up to the casita, your breath will be taken away because you can't believe that you are so close into town and yet have the beautiful wonderful mountain view. Polly was such a great hostess. Whatever questions or concerns we had, she was there to help answer them. She also has a book that previous guest have written in, take the time to read it, other guest give you other ideals of things to do or places to go. Make sure and wake up at daylight to watch the hot air balloons rise up over town and the mountains. Enjoy the hot tub while looking up at the stars. On cold nights, enjoy the fireplace inside the home. Since the casita is located right in town, you are minutes from a grocery store, restaurants, hiking trails and other stores. You can enjoy a drive to The Grand Canyon, Jerome, Winslow, Meteor Crater, Painted Desert or Petrified Forest. All of these places are within one to two hour drive. Amazed us that Polly has everything you would need to take with you to go to these places. Water bottles, ice chest, hiking sticks and lots of maps or books of the area. Oh and for hiking around Sedona, Polly offers you a Red Rock Parking Pass, make sure and carry it with you, never know when you will need it. So long story short, yes, we gladly refer this place to anyone and can hardly wait until our next vacation to return to Sedona. Take the time to view the wildlife. It is there but you have to be fast a viewing and trying to take a photo. As we were packing up to leave, we saw a bobcat, but I was not fast enough with my camera to get a photo. Any sound, they run. ***Thank you Polly for sharing your casita with us, we enjoyed our week and look forward to returning again. Escalon's - Magnolia, TX

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casita! The property is very private and the Casita is cosy yet spacious enough for 2 people and very comfortable. Every morning we watched the hot air balloons out the bedroom window as the sun came up and painted the rocks a glowing red color. Each night, we enjoyed the amazing sunset from the outside deck and watched the sky turn to deep colors of reds and purples. The outdoor hot tub was such a great touch and allowed us to enjoy the vast array of night stars against a deep black sky while we relaxed. The location of the Casita could not be better. It is central to everything in Sedona you would want to do, from hiking to sight seeing to the art galleries. This is truly a great place and I would highly recommend it! The hot tub is a place where you can watch the stars at night and relax after adventuring all day. We slept great in the bed, and loved watching the hot air balloons while we drank our coffee each morning. We saw wildlife and more shooting stars than I ever would have imagined. We covered a lot of ground during our visit, hiked a lot of trails, and still found that our favorites were the ones closest to the Casita. They are less crowded and the view cannot be beat. Wonderful place to spend a week! The views from the patio were stunning, and the hot tub was a blessing for aching limbs after the daily long hikes through the spectacular red rock country. The casita had everything we needed, including a gas grill on the patio. The place was cozy and just perfect for two. The AC was wonderful to provide a cool home on those hot days! The pillows on the lawn chairs were a bit on the thin side and not too comfortable. The mattress was not as supportive for us folks with back issues. Polly was very welcoming and helpful. We did a few hikes right from the casita, and many hikes in the nearby area. The casita is located in a perfect spot and just a short drive from shopping, restaurants, and the outdoors yet quietly tucked away in a great neighborhood. Overall a wonderful experience that we highly recommend to anyone! A special place indeed.

2.0   -   Beware of the 5 Star Rating
Reviewed on Sep 01, 2018
I chose this rental based off of the 5 star ratings it received and the glowing reviews(as I alway have when using VRBO), this time it was a miss. Although the location was great and views from the balcony breathtaking, other factors degraded the experience. Concerns included: Inside of house not very clean, "dust bunnies" inside TV cabinet, cobwebs in corners and ceiling, under cabinets in disarray and filled with old products. What is the cleaning charge fee being used for? Cooking and utensils dated/not well stocked, spice rack contains old and empty items. Noted to owner that paper towel holder empty and could not find replacement-was informed she does not supply paper towels as she does not use them(who is the paying customer here?) BBQ Grill lasted for 5 minutes before it ran out of propane-had to run to store to replenish it to continue cooking dinner. If no spare present I would presume it should be checked before each new renter arrives. I do not understand all the 5 star reviews given to this place. I have stayed at quite a few VRBO's and was never disappointed until this one. Maybe the items mentioned will not matter to you, but just be aware. Also could use a fresh coat of paint inside and floors/shower scrubbed.

The casita has everything you need to make yourself at home. The location is perfect and the views are terrific. There´s a supermarket literally four minutes away. We are not hikers so we were more interested in Tours. The tour companies were thrilled to pick us up in the heart of Sedona and take us anywhere we chose to go. In one week we saw the Grand Canyon, antelope Canyon, Horshoe Bend, Montezuma‘s Castle, Montezuma‘s well, Tuzigoot, chapel of the holy cross, the petrified forest, the painted desert, Winslow, the meteor crater, Prescott, Jerome, Cottonwood, etc. We ate at The Javelina Cantina which is a terrific Mexican restaurant. We also had breakfast at The Coffee Pot restaurant. If you like omlettes this is the place to go. We did everything we wanted to do and then some. On the last day we went to the movies because we were more productive than we thought we would be. I know that we are outside the norm because most people who go to Sedona want to go hiking. Polly is a terrific hostess. She is there if you need her but respects your privacy. If you want a "home" then stay at the Casita. So much better than a hotel. Thanks Polly

You can hike right from the front door to some nice views up the hill, or you can jump in the car and in minutes be at any other trailhead in the Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon area. If you like a relaxing morning eating breakfast on a patio watching the sunrise across beautiful Capitol Butte, then this is the place for you. While you sip your coffee and enjoy the color changes of all the scenery, you can also watch the Hot Air Balloon tours right over the next ridge to the west. In the evenings, once the sun goes down, break out your favorite adult beverage (or ice cream!) and sit on the patio star gazing, searching for planets and constellations and even seeing the star cloud of the Milky Way with your naked eye! The owner is available easily if you need, but will also let you be in your own space if you prefer, no pressure at all but DO take a moment to chat and introduce yourself, Polly is such a pleasure to meet and chat with! Took a chance and got a grand slam. This vacation rental was perfect for the two of us in every way-- price, location, views and amenities. This very private Casita sits on a hill in West Sedona. The space is generous with a nice living area with fireplace and kitchen. The king size bed was terrific with private bathroom and all the accommodations of a home. The best feature was the patio with another fireplace and the greatest view that a grand hotel could never provide. I sat each morning sipping my coffee watching the hot air balloons float up in the distance. The patio faces west with the sunset lighting the golden rocks of Sedona's Thunder Mountain. The Casita is in walking distance to great trails. The central location also provides easy driving distance to shopping, great food and all the sites of Sedona. It was also wonderful to relax after sightseeing all day in the very private hot tub. I sat back and relaxed watching the shooting stars. I stopped counting the first night, too many to wish on. This is a great spot if you want a private home like experience. Can't say enough nice things about the Casita. The first thing I did when I got home was to rebook for the next year! Happy traveling.
