  • Great views and value

    5 of 5

The space, both inside and out, was wonderful. The property was private with marvelous views. We were able to cook a turkey dinner and then enjoy Christmas dinner out on the spacious covered patio. I especially enjoyed the views from the very large second floor bedroom, and having a fireplace was a definite plus for the cool evenings. The location was marvelous, and the owners were very responsive to our needs. This place was a real find!

  • Great Location and Views!

    5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed this casita. It was located near lots of good stores such as Trader Joe's, restaurants, other grocery stores, shopping centers, coffee shops. It is a nice part of town and has a gate to keep out people who might just wander in. We did not like the stairs but they were carpeted and easy to walk on. If you have knee problems, this is probably not the place for you as the bathroom is downstairs, the bedroom upstairs. Kitchen was small but had the necessary things to cook. Water pressure was not very good in the shower. The view from the upstairs sitting room/bedroom is fantastic! There is another small rental on this property and another house which is not used very much so the property is very quiet. So it is very private. We were allowed to bring our dog (with permission). She did have an encounter with a javalina so be careful at dusk! We did use the maps and restaurant suggestions in the binder. Recommend casita to a couple if you can manage stairs!

  • Great place to stay!

    5 of 5

The suite is very comfortable and it has a big bathroom. Upstairs room has a beautiful view on the mountains and east side of Tucson. It is very quite and private. Kitchen is small but well organized and very sufficient for a vacation stay. The area is close to all shopping and the bike trail. It is centrally located in Tucson (Foothills). The private gate to the property keeps the traffic away. There is also covered outdoor area with comfortable lounge chairs and view on the mountains and the desert. We loved it and we will be back.

  • Needs Work

Not recommended for seniors and/or people with bad knees. Stairs are very steep and bathroom and bedroom are on separate floors. No water pressure in any faucets and very brown water with sediment. Kitchen is too small to work in. The bathroom was roomy and clean. Nice outside yard. Bees had built a home until roof tiles and migrated inside where they died……dead bees everywhere. Antiquated smoke detector. Cant recommend this condo.

  • Absolutely Incredible!

    5 of 5

My husband and I had a beautifully peaceful, relaxing 8 days in this lovely guest quarters. Meg is a very thoughtful and thorough hostess. She left a very complete binder on the dining table with suggestions for restaurants, hiking trails, shopping, entertainment and just about everything you'd want. We used this binder extensively throughout our stay. When we arrived after a long day of traveling, it was a blessing to have dinner suggestions at our fingertips, and we had a lovely dinner at one of the suggested restaurants. The location is perfect - close to shopping and yet quiet and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts and evening wine on the covered patio overlooking Tucson. The unit was very clean and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Meg and her husband were very prompt in responding to any of our questions and were open to sharing everything they love about Tucson. We will most definitely return, and I would recommend the Mountain View Suite to any couple looking for a quiet getaway.

  • Safety Concerns

    1 of 5

We booked this property for the setting and the location, close to the Gem Show. Both of those goals were met, beautiful cacti and views, and convenient location. But we were unhappy with the condition of the unit from the beginning: musty/dusty smell, with numerous artificial plants as decor; poor water quality and pressure, not enough for the jacuzzi tub, which we never used; poor quality linens; honeybees in the bathroom coming in from a nest outside; very inconvenient layout with bathroom and unusable living/dining area on lower level; uneven heat, very cold in the lower level. No cable TV and sporadic signal. However, we also had safety issues; both of us fell on the poorly constructed stairs which we concluded had 4 or move code violations: not built to code- too much rise, with not enough width, no lighting, and no railing. Owners have been unresponsive. We would not recommend this property, and certainly not for anyone over 50.

  • Great space in North Central Tucson

    5 of 5

Loved the location and space. Everything was clean, organized, and ready for our week-long visit - kitchen area sufficiently well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. Easy access to downtown, several grocery stores and restaurants, a local walk along the city path, and more importantly for us, to the surrounding wilderness parks for fabulous hiking. The air-conditioning worked well (important for southern Arizona) and the outside patio provides a nice covered area to relax overlooking the surrounding mountains and city scape.
