Spacious and comfortable. Convenient location. Garage for storing our bikes was a huge bonus. Warm, welcoming hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This is a very comfortable, clean, well located property with wonderful views. Our hosts Steve and Susan were very friendly and helpful. Only problem was the unseasonably cool, rainy (and snowy!) weather prevented us from enjoying the deck and other outdoor activities. Still, would recommend this property and we hope to return next year

We stayed at the Boyer guesthouse for the first 2 weeks of February 2019. The location was perfect for us - we were close to essentially all the things to see and do in the area but not right smack in the middle of town (especially since the Gem Show was going on and downtown was crowded). The guesthouse looks as if it could be new, it's so well kept. The decor is perfect for the area and the kitchen is very well equipped and has all the conveniences anyone would want. There is also a washer / dryer. Both bedrooms are good sized and the master bedroom has a marvelous and extremely comfortable bed. We did not get the opportunity to sit on the porch, as it was too cool in early February, but we did see some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Steve and Susan and marvelous hosts. We were given space in the garage with an opener, which was wonderful. Steve was prompt with help or suggestions whenever we asked. He suggested several restaurants for us and Susan suggested an attraction we had not already discovered. We spent each day travelling around the area and it was wonderful to come back at the end of the day to this private, lovely, quiet place - especially since the hosts had graciously provided a couple bottles of lovely wine. Yes, there are 20 stairs that you have to go up to get there, but it's so nice it's worth it (this from a visitor with back trouble). And really, how many times are you going to go in and out when you have so many great things to do in the area and such a lovely home-away-from-home ? We are already considering a visit again next year. Kitty and Gary K., West Chester PA

We spent a week in this beautiful, comfortable and CLEAN property. The unit was large and easily accommodated 4 adults. The kitchen was nicely equipped and had plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware. We thoroughly enjoyed the large, covered deck with the magnificent views - if you are up early enough, you can view the sunrise over the mountain and in the evenings enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The area is quiet and peaceful and we were fortunate to see jackrabbits and a coyote. If we are back in the area next year, we will definitely stay here again.

There were 4 of us staying at the rental and we were more than satisfied. The place is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. It is not walking distance to any sites or stores, this was no problem for us because we were not looking for a downtown location. It was peaceful and the full moon rising over the Catalina Mts. was spectacular. Can't wait to go back.

This was our second stay at Boyer and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely, spacious guest apartment, a well-appointed kitchen and 'Oh, that bed'. The hosts, Steve and Susan, strike a perfect balance between accommodation and respect for guest's privacy. We've rented several homes during the Gem Shows and this property is a definite favorite. Lovely views and did I mention that bed? Perfect. Thanks, guys. Bill & Liz

Steve and Susan couldn't have been nicer hosts. They accommodated our late arrival, and welcomed us with a great bottle of wine! The apartment had a wonderful covered patio with comfy furnishings, perfect for late afternoon glass of wine and relaxation The unit was spacious and felt like home. The views of sunrise and sunsets from surrounding mountains were beautiful and we even saw a pack of wolves(?) and jackrabbits in the desert brush surrounding the property. Our only issue was probably more of a VRBO issue - when we booked, the map showing location was incorrect, so we ended a bit further away than we expected. That being said, getting to downtown, hiking , supermarket and other activities was not inconvenient.

This was a perfect property for our family of two grandparents, a daughter and son-in-law, and 18 month old grandson. The unit is beautiful and includes all the necessities. Steve and Susan were so kind as to provide both a high chair and crib for our grandson so we didn't have to lug one them along from Iowa. When I asked for a slow cooker, Susan was happy and most gracious to supply one. The unit provides beautiful evening views of the city, and the balcony is a pleasant place to wind down with drinks, appetizers and an outdoor meal after a full day of sight-seeing. The unit is conveniently located to the university and also to tourist attractions. The steps to the unit could be a problem for some people, especially in terms of moving in and moving out, but my 69 year-old artificial knees were able to negotiate the stairs on a daily basis with no trouble. I would highly recommend this unit to others and would not hesitate to go back. In fact, we hope to next year.

Steve and Susan were wonderful hosts and they did everything within their control to make our stay a joy. Having access to a garage was an added benefit. One cannot overstate the value of the rental location in traveling to Oro Valley, Green Valley and even northeast Tucson (for golfers this was of immense value).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed guest unit. Spacious, attractively furnished and surrounded by nature. Watch for rabbits, road runners and horseback riders in the mornings and coyotes in the evenings. The kitchen and baths are roomy and exceptionally well-equipped. In-room laundry is a big plus. Because the unit sits above a four car garage there is plenty of privacy and no need to tiptoe. As a bonus, parking in the garage was offered, with remote. The pleasant hosts are on-site and very respectful of guest's privacy. Oh, and did I mention that big, comfy nest of a bed? Just what we needed after a long day at the Gem Shows. The deck affords privacy so that doors can be left open without feeling exposed. The only caveat that I would offer is that the stairs are steep and wouldn't be appropriate for those with mobility issues.

The home was in a really convenient neighborhood. It is close to downtown Tucson, Saguaro West National Park, the Desert Museum, the freeway and good eating spots. It was very spacious.vews from the big deck were great in several directions. The kitchen was well equipped and roomy. It was very nice of the owners to allow us to park our car in the garage under the rental. They were accommodating whenever we had issues. We thought that there were a couple of things that needed updating: the master bed was very soft, hard to get in and out of and high for 70+ year olds, the front door from the deck needed a new lock, the barbeque did not work very well even after the owner worked on it. Nevertheless, the home was a fun location for the 4 of us from Minnesota. It was fun watching the coyotes from the deck walk up and down the road!

The rental was beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped, light filled and airy. Very clean, well maintained, and up-to-date. The views were superb from the enormous deck, inviting al fresco dining. From this location, one could choose from nearby trailheads for superb hikes. Far enough from the bustle to really appreciate the natural surroundings. Access to the downtown was easy on the lesser traveled roads. Very comfortable with a true southwestern feel, and all the amenities.

5.0   -   Spacious, Convenient and Well-Maintained - a Wonderful Place to Stay in Tucson

My wife and I just returned from a two-week stay at this property during the time of the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were immediately impressed by the spacious layout which includes two large bedrooms, each with it's own full bathroom. Although there were only two of us there we noticed that the bedroons are well-separated by an intervening hallway so that two couples could easily share the appartment and still have plenty of privacy. The kitchen is large with plenty of cabinet space and was better equiped than other units we have rented in the past. My wife did a lot of cooking while we were there and all of the kitchen appliances worked well. The owners were able to provide any cooking utensils that were not initially available. The outdoor kitchen is actually attached to the owners house, not the appartment, but was available for our use and was reasonably convenient. I grilled some chicken on the large outdoor propane grill one night and the grill worked well. In the evenings we enjoyed relaxing in the living room with its large TV or listening to CDs that we had brought with us. The satellite TV service had a good selection of channels and we had good WiFi reception for my laptop computer. The appartment was very well-maintained and really provided everything we wanted. The appartment sits above a 4-car garage and it was nice to be able to put our car in the garage each night. The owner even provided an automatic garage door opener! The area around the garage is well lit as are the stairways. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get up to the appartment so someone with knee or hip problems might have difficulty with that. This was not a problem for us and the payoff was the fantastic view of the mountains that was provided by the extra elevation. We saw a number of fabulous sunrises during our stay. The owner's house and the appartment are located on a gravel road and are well removed from other houses so there was never an issue with neighborhood noise. The gravel road is short and is easily traversable by a standard car. The location was very convenient for us. A shopping area with a grocery store and drugstore was only about 2 miles away and it was very easy to get downtown to the convention center or to get on I-10 to go either east or west. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this property to anyone who does not have difficulty climbing stairs.

We spent a week in the guesthouse and had a wonderful time. The property is first-rate and well-appointed. The mountain and desert views are great. The location provides a nice combination of seclusion and easy access to the University area and downtown (~10 minute drive). Our daughter is already insisting that we rent the house again on our next trip to Tucson!
