  • Excellent!!

Our stay here at Pilar P’s little hacienda was way over our expectations. The accommodations, an attachement to her own lovely home, was very clean, cozy, comfortable and very private. We had a well-appointed kitchen, a dining area off a lovely private patio, a spacious livingroom with a large flat-screened TV. The bedroom has comfortable a queen-sized bed. Pilar, being next door was always helpful and accommodating. We had “location, location, location”. We were just “lucky” to select a place in E. Tucson. We were within 1 minute car ride to a Safeway and Walgreens. A 2 minute walk took us to a small plaza with a “Big Lots”, an auto supply place and a very nice family restaurant which serves a great breakfast (opens at 7) and has a fish fry every Friday. Down further on E. Harrison is “Garrett’s Family Steak House” (On the L in the plaza with a mattress company) for great steak as well as fish (Friday nights are v busy) . About a mile down E . Harrison (on the L) is Dunkin Donuts and Target is nearby. The Pima Air and Space Museum is about 4 miles away. And the hiking is awesome on Mt. Lemmon, a 20 min drive! All in all, we would rate this hacienda a 10/10.

  • Hello, sunshine --every day!

    5 of 5

Leaving the cold, snowy environment of January in New England behind us for a 2-week escape, how delighted we were to arrive at “La Lupita”! Greeting us were sunny Arizona skies, and our hostess Pilar’s sunny smile offered with fresh citrus fruit from her trees along with her warm welcome to Tucson. Throughout our stay in Tucson, Pilar shared her knowledge, experience and hospitality, locking into our birding and photography interests with all kinds of suggestions of parks & places nearby, as well as treks into Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park. Pilar’s “La Lupita” was a just-right home-away for the two of us, simple, private with enough modern amenities for our every comfort. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and a convenient drive to all our shopping needs. We were so grateful to Pilar who shared conversation on so many interests with us –local history, wildlife, and we felt comfortable talking with each other on many topics we had in-common, including the warm, feel-good' joys of being grandparents! We recommend “La Lupita” to any one or two people looking for a short or even several-wks’ stay in Tucson, and we hope that they will enjoy Pilar and her special kind of "sunshine" as much as we did. We feel we have made a life-long friend. We will seriously consider her invitation to “come back” – to stay at “La Lupita” again someday.

  • Clean and Quiet

    5 of 5

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at La Lupita. We were greeted with a bowl of fruit and a jar of honey! It was a thoughtful gesture we appreciated. If you like the outdoors this is the perfect staging place for your adventures in and around Sabino Canyon, including Saguaro National Park! Very clean and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at La Lupita. Our home was so comfortable and ideally located. Bill and Pilar made us feel at home right away. We had a beautiful bowl of fresh citrus fruit from their back yard awaiting us. We felt very safe in our location. We look forward to visiting La Lupita again sometime in the future. We appreciated the fact that there were no pets or smoking allowed. Our private patio was welcoming after a day of exploring the sites of Tucson .

  • La Lupita

    5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at La Lupita. One must have a car while staying there as it is located on the far estern side of Tucson. The neighborhood is very quiet and provides a very good feeling of safety. The owners provided a good amount of material describing thing to do and see in Tucson and their locations.

  • Safe and welcoming

    5 of 5

As a solo woman traveler to Tucson, I found La Lupita to be a safe and welcoming place. The apartment is located in a relatively quiet neighbor in SE Tucson but well-connected to restaurants and shopping. I was able to park my car in the driveway.....just a few steps from my private entrance secured with two metal gated doors. La Lupita is only 4 miles from Saguaro National Park East, a great park for hiking and bicycling. Best of all, the apartment is lovely. It is in very good condition and very clean. The hosts have done a wonderful job of decorating the apartment and providing lots of nice amenities. When I arrived, I found a large bowl of fresh citrus fruit. The kitchen was stocked with the basics. The large glass patio doors opened to a private patio area. The hosts were gracious but respectful of my privacy. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely consider staying here again.

  • Gorgeous Tucson!

    5 of 5

Our week in Tucson at "La Pita" was wonderful! The host and hostess were most gracious and the casita was quiet and very comfortable. The large bowl of citrus fruit from their yard as well as the desert honey they provided were delicious and so very thoughtful. The house was in a very good location for grocery shopping and many fabulous hiking areas. Tucson was a great destination to enjoy a variety of many outdoor activities. We hope to return in the future and would definitely stay at La Pita again if it's available. Thank you Bill & Pilar, Mike and Pam
