  • Beautiful and cozy! Loved the stay!

    5 of 5

This has been by far our best experience. Ralph and Bernie are such warm and caring couple. Their house is beautiful, clean and adds to the vacation dream. They had wonderful tips for us for our day excursions and the morning breakfast was amazing. If we are back in Grand canyon area, this is the place we would stay without a second thought!

  • Best Night Sleep and Breakfast!

    5 of 5

My daughter and I ventured from Orlando to LA via Flagstaff and had a wonderful time staying here! Our room was cozy, shower soothing, and hosts who were kind and thoughtful. We slept the best night sleep on our trek West and woke up to the smell of breakfast. Bernadette and Ralph cooked us a fantastic breakfast the next morning - pancakes, chicken sausages, and fresh strawberries and bananas. Coffee was plenty as well as conversation with our hosts and other guests. I would highly recommend stopping here and staying in Flagstaff with Ralph and Bernadette for a couple of days and enjoy the downtime. Thank you so much and we hope to return in the near future. :)

Beautiful home in a lovely gated wooded area adjacent to a golf course. The Whistlers were friendly and hospitable. I actually consider them new friends. My room was clean and well provisioned. The pancake breakfast was great. I definitely would like to stay with them again the next time I pass through Flagstaff, AZ.

Beautiful estate home located in a gated community on a terrific private golf course. An absolute gem. Ralph Whistler, the homeowner and proprietor, was simply sensational. He provided the perfect balance of enjoyable conversation and privacy to relax. He was a wealth of information/recommendations regarding Flagstaff. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

  • Such amazing hospitality

    5 of 5

We stayed for two nights and Ralph was just a wonderful host. Such a friendly guy and full of good info and conversation. In the morning he made us breakfast and I was impressed at the quality food he served-organic everything. There was another couple from Texas who stayed in the other room and we enjoyed talking with them as well. Before we headed out for the day, he had waters and bananas to take with us if we wanted and drinks in the fridge if needed for the rest of the day. The room was very nice and private. The bed was comfortable. We took a hike around the meadow one morning and enjoyed that. We were there moving our daughter into NAU and it was only a 10 minute drive or so to the campus. We will definitely be staying again and hope to meet Ralph's wife who was out of town. Thanks Ralph!

  • Lovely welcoming place to discover Flagstaff

    5 of 5

We spent 3 nights in Ralph's home - and really felt lucky. Ralph treated us with a nice breakfast, the room, house and surroundings were great - and the location is just outside Flagstaff, in a very quiet area, in the middle of the Ponderosa pines. My husband had a cold and needed to have a rest - but no better place than here, while I discovered downtown Flagstaff: the lovely old buildlings, the arts and craft cottages, the shops. Being from Europe, traveling 2 weeks in the US, this felt like a true relaxing place to stay. If you feel more in shape, it is an ideal base of exploration to start excursions to the Grand Canyon or Sedona - or just explore Flagstaff, which I really found charming. Too bad we didn't meet Ralph's wife, but Ralph was a great host!!

  • I wish we had more time to stay

    5 of 5

We checked in late since we went to the Grand Canyon first before going to the home. Once we got there Ralph met us right away. to tell the truth this was the first time staying at a VRBO where the owner also lived there and we hadn't expected it but we were pleasantly surprised. Ralph is the perfect host. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves and it was a huge area. Ralph made us and another set of guests breakfast the next morning. Blueberry pancakes and sausage an fresh fruit. We took a quick walk on the golf course and saw prarie dogs which was very cool. then we had to leave on more adventures. We sure appreciated our time with Ralph and his beautiful home.

  • Awesome home to stay in wonderful experience

    5 of 5

Ralph was so welcoming and had coffee and breakfast ready every morning. We had the upstairs bedroom and it was clean with towels and washclothes for us to use. It was a great location for the drive Sedona and the Grand Canyon as well as all surrounding Flagataff areas. Lovely home better than a hotel room for sure. Will stay here again in the future!

  • House is absolutely stunning! Very homey and inviting. Extremely clean!

    5 of 5

What is not to like!? Ralph was an amazing host as he offered so much knowledge of the area, things to do and suggestions on our trip. He also made breakfast every morning! My husband and I, spent 4 nights and we would again and again. The entire upstairs was ours with a full bathroom and it felt like our own apartment. It is so close to downtown flagstaff- only 10 minutes. So that was nice as well for when we wanted to explore for dinner. We took 2 day trips to Sedona and it was a beautiful 45 minute drive and we took one day trip to the Grand Canyon and it was only 1 hr and 45 minutes. It is a great home base for those looking to explore the surrounding areas. Don’t hesitate. Book this! I would recommended to a best friend or family member for sure ! We also discussed coming back with friends! Thanks Ralph!!!

Our host Ralph was very gracious and helpful! A wonderful experience, as this property is just outside of Flagstaff and served as our base for many day trips (Grand Canyon, Sedona, Antelope Canyon, Petrified Forest, & the Phoenix area). The property is comfortable, clean, and in a scenic setting. Would definitely recommend it to others!

  • Quiet location but no so far off the beaten path

    5 of 5

We liked the location and took a walk on the golf course. It is located only 5 minutes from town. We basically had the entire upstairs for the evening. Our host was out a lot so we also had the entire downstairs. We went to Sedona from here down rt 89 which is very scenic. We would not had gone this way if we hadn't staying here instead of Sedona.

  • A friendly, comfortable stay!

    5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights with Ralph and Bernadette and they were fantastic hosts - helpful, well-traveled, and Ralph made great breakfasts! We had a big room with a terrific en suite with 2 separate sinks and a very comfortable bed. The area is very green, and the nights were so wonderfully quiet and dark you can see the Milky Way from the golf course path right behind the house! It was a great base for day trips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. We had a lovely stay - thanks very much!

  • Great Secure Location and Host

    5 of 5

Stayed in the upper level bedroom. Loved the space and full bath amenities. Area was private and perfect for couple. Ralph was an amazing host. We enjoyed his company and all his knowledge about the area. He even allowed us to do a load of laundry! He offered to make us breakfast, but we are early risers and chose to do our hiking before eating. He was not offended at all! If your a couple, looking for a quiet, cozy place in the Flagstaff area, I would highly recommend.
