  • tree-mendous

    4 of 5

we recently stayed here for spring training and it was the ideal location for us. quiet, historic neighborhood, lovely wild flowers and gardens, quiet vrbo. Lots of amenities: A/C, ceiling fans, powerful shower, lots of towels, washing machine, 2 lovely dogs named Jack & Gracie and Mischief the cat. A gorgeous grapefruit tree smells heavenly as you sit outside or on the top deck. Safeway near for groceries. Comfy bed, pillows and small sofa down near kitchen. the downstairs is quite small. but there is a small table with 2 stools to sit at for coffee or better yet, sit outside. Doreen was super nice and was always quick to respond to any questions. The Coronado neighborhood is quickly being rejuvenated and everyone takes pride in their homes. i would say 2 fit comfortably and as others have said, the bed is upstairs, the bathroom down a flight of spiral staircase. we recommend strongly. lovely vrbo.

  • Very well kept, clean, safe, & central to anywhere you want to go in the area.

    5 of 5

We loved our stay at this clean, cozy little treehouse in Phoenix. Doreen was a perfect host, always available to answer any questions & give us directions to anywhere we wanted to go. We were in town for 6 games of the Brewers spring training so were out & about a lot but were able to enjoy her outside sitting area by the firepit in the mornings when we were not walking around the neighborhood. We felt quite safe in the neighborhood & there is a park located right across the street. Also the property is located close to restaurants & a grocery store. The yard is beautiful with many plants & a beautiful grapefruit tree. Each morning we were greeted by Jack & Gracie & Mischief & Sweet Pea, the 2 dogs & 2 cats, who came for treats Doreen had provided for us to "make friends." They are all very sweet. We had been on the road for 7 days before arriving & it was so nice to have a washer & dryer available to do laundry. Doreen was available to explain how to work the washer & dryer. She was very accommodating. There is a spiral staircase inside to get from the 1st floor to the 2nd but outside is a stairway to get up to the deck that is right outside the bedroom, so we took all of our luggage up that stairway when we arrived & then down it when we left. It was very convenient. We would recommend this little home away from home to anyone coming to Phoenix.

  • Perfect spot to explore Phoenix from

    5 of 5

The casita had everything we wanted plus cats , dogs and a very gracious hostess. There was enough room for all our needs and the upstairs bedroom was wonderful. It took us no time at all to learn to negotiate the spiral staircase. The surrounding neighbourhood is wonderful and we spent many hours walking around trying to decide which home we liked best. We enjoyed meeting the community at the opening of the Community Garden and found everybody to be very friendly. We would recommend this home to anybody who has an interest in historical homes and loves a quiet , safe , walkable neighbourhood. There were several nice restaurants within walking distance and it was an easy drive to any thing else you would need. Myrna and Dan

  • Cozy living space with all amenities provided and great location!

    5 of 5

Loved our stay in this wonderful VRBO property. Many sites to relax with outside sitting space and balcony with chairs. Upstairs has good lighting with dramatic architecture. Felt especially secure with gated access to yard and good neighborhood vibe. Hostess was gracious and accommodating. Spiral iron staircase was pretty and relatively easy to navigate, important since we are upper middle-aged and the bathroom was downstairs from the bedroom. We highly recommend this property!

  • A Lovely Relaxing Setting in Historic Phoenix

    5 of 5

A lovely two story casita with shady outdoor garden setting. Spacious upper bedroom with small deck, nice for morning coffee. It is located across from a large park and has nice eating places right in the neighborhood. Apartment is in excellent condition and owner very nice and accommodating. Laundry facilities were very handy and is supplied with many little extras. We were greeted each morning by two dogs and a cat. All friendly and well behaved. Great for two and must be able to do stairs. It is also a very secure and private setting. Enjoyed it very much.

  • Enjoyable and Peaceful Stay

    5 of 5

Doreen and her fur family made us feel right at home in her cute guest house for five weeks, and we miss it already. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of storage in the large upstairs bedroom. The location was perfect for a short drive to downtown, the Heard museum, restaurants, and quick access to the freeway for easy day trips. We also enjoyed just walking in this historic area of town. I recommend this place for a couple that is looking for a home away from home. Thank you Doreen, Jack and Gracie for being the best hosts anyone could ask for! We hope to be back soon. Frank and Angie, Vancouver BC

  • Excellent retreat!

    5 of 5

The place was clean, quiet and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable. It was a wonderful place for some much needed r&r. Doreen was a fabulous host and a very nice person. She was very responsive and easy to deal with starting from my first inquiry to checkout. Loved the resident dogs and cats, such a joy to interact with them. I highly recommend this property and look forward to staying here again in the future.

  • Perfect, Private Cottage in Phoenix.

    5 of 5

I traveled to Phoenix to teach classes over a 2 day period and stayed at this little cottage. It seems to be brand, spanking new inside, it's clean, modern and just perfect for 1-2 people who just need a place to come relax at night and wind down from the day. The upstairs bedroom is inviting, the bed is comfortable. I slept very well. Bring your own coffee, as all there was is decaf...but there is a Starbucks only about 3/4 mile away, so no big deal. I would stay here again any time, I highly recommend.

  • Very secure and safe place. It is across the street from a great park.

What a location,5 minutes from the city 3 minutes from route 17 and maybe 7 minutes from route 10. Encanto Golfcourse is a 10 minute drive and that is a great municipal track. Our host has two dogs. Jack just wants petting and biscuits and Gracey really shy. They both respond to the sound of the gate which is great security. I'm

  • Perfect for two!

    5 of 5

Perfect location in a safe neighborhood for our two week visit to Phoenix. Very quite and private with quick access to the interstate. Just right for a home base to visit other locations from. The lower level is cozy and works well for two people. Very clean and all the amenities you need, not to mention a great shower! The upper level bedroom is huge! Plenty of closet and dresser space providing for storing your clothes and other items. There is a small deck off the second level bedroom to enjoy a coffee in the morning or pick a fresh grapefruit when in season! Jack and Gracie (Doreen's two dogs) were great! They would greet us each morning and occasionally in the evening which was nice as we missed our two pups back home. All in all, I recommend this place for any single or couple looking for an affordable, clean, safe place close to the Phoenix metro. Doreen is a wonderful host!
