  • It was very peaceful! The cabin was very enjoyable.

    5 of 5

The area was very peaceful. Cabin was clean and modern decorations made me feel comfortable and d welcomed. We had everything we needed for cooking/grilling. So nice to escape the "rat race."

  • Flagstaff Cabin Review

    3 of 5

The price is fair for what you receive. Very convenient to local trails. The Fort Valley trail heads are just a 5 minute bike ride away. Also convenient to downtown amenities. The cabin is located on the same property as the owner's home, essentially part of their back yard. The owner does not allow you to park your vehicle near the cabin. You will have to carry your luggage, groceries, etc., a short distance from the allowed parking to the cabin. The allowed parking area was a little tight, between the owner's house and a rock retaining wall. The WIFI signal comes from the owner's house, so the reception was not very good inside the cabin. While on travel I have to work remotely using my laptop. I was forced to rearrange the furniture and move the dining table against the window facing the main house in order to receive an adequate WIFI signal. There is no washer/drier, but I enjoyed feeling like a college student again using the laundromat on South Beaver street, which has a cool coffee shop next door and several brew pubs within walking distance. There is a single sink in the cabin which must be shared for bathroom and kitchen uses. The stove/oven is small but functional. The refrigerator is of the small dormitory variety. I initially had trouble with it freezing items near the back. After allowing it to defrost and giving it a good cleaning, it started performing adequately. The neighborhood is quiet allowing for a good nights sleep, even with the window open. This was surprising given the close proximity to Hwy 180. If you enjoy coffee, bring your own coffee pot, or drive to the Late Train a few miles down the road. I had trouble getting the provided coffee device to work properly. Overall it was a good stay and a good value for the price.
