  • Grandma's house

    3 of 5

This is definitely not your typical vacation rental. The owner of this property lives in the house when it is not rented so it is filled with her personal stuff. There was food in the fridge (much more than a few items left by previous renters), used loofahs, a used razor, a back washer, and several half empty bottles of shampoos and conditioners in the showers, a rack of nail polish and hair care items in the master bathroom, shoe boxes and hats in the master closest, personal mail on the desk, a charcoal portrait of a family member (I assume) hanging in the entry way, and the owner's second vehicle parked in the side driveway. I spoke with Natalie, (the owner's granddaughter who manages the rental from Indiana), and told her I felt like someone was going to 'come home' at any time. She told me that no one had complained before and she graciously offered to refund my money if I wanted to leave, but I had no where else to go. The back yard is fenced in and did have a nice sitting area, however it backed up to a noisy alley and the back side of a car dealership where the workers blared loud music as they washed the cars. On the side of the house was an empty dirt area where some type of a structure had been torn down. We had to pick up nails, metal, and other trash before we could let the dogs outside. Within the first few days we were there, both of my pups developed nasty coughs from inhaling all the dust and one pup threw up so much that I had to take him to an emergency clinic to get rehydrated. My rating of three stars is because Natalie offered to give me a refund. Otherwise, based on all the personal items in the house, the noisy back yard, the condition of the side yard, and the fact that I had to pay hundreds to the emergency vet clinic, I would lower my rating to two stars.

Nice location. Great neighborhood. Many amenities. The few times I needed something, Natasha and neighbor Tom were very helpful and quick to respond.

  • Noisy stay but home was great!

    4 of 5

The home suited our needs. We had 3 adults staying for one week. The issue we had was the noise coming from neighbours working in their backyards at 8:00 in the morning. The home backed onto commercial property which added more noise. Sitting in the backyard in the early morning wasn't a peaceful event. In fact, we sat inside in order to avoid the noise. Everything in the house was fine and it was well stocked. Lot's of room for the 3 of us. The location was great for accessing golf courses.

  • Great place

    5 of 5

The house met our expectations and more. We had everything we needed (towels, linens, fully stocked kitchen), and a very clean, comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood.

  • Nice 3/2 comfortable close to downtown Scottsdale

    4 of 5

This home is easy to access and the location is very close to downtown Scottsdale which we drove over to parking and visited a few shops. Nice large driveway space plus beautiful exterior. Outdoor backyard and patio area is a very relaxing space. Nice table and chair plus outdoor lounge couches. Next door the parrots were talking and it was funny at times! Three solid bedrooms were nicely made up and very comfortable! Two bathrooms were dated but also nice supplied with ample towels! The living room had plenty of seating and nice center table with large wall mounted tv. Would have liked a few lap blankets around! Kitchen was open and updated. Overall this house was extremely comfortable and I definitely recommend it. The neighborhood was pleasant to walk my pup also!

  • Beautiful

    5 of 5

We had a beautiful stay. The house was even better in person. Natasha was attentive and extremely helpful the whole process, even while on her own vacation. I look forward to our next stay at this property.

  • Top Notch Experience!

    5 of 5

There was nothing misleading about the description of this great single-family home/property located on a quaint residential block just a short drive or cab ride away from all of the hot spots in Old Town Scottsdale. I really couldn't have been more pleased with the hosts and property from the initial dialogue through the end of my trip. Natasha and Shari are genuinely friendly and considerate people who truly wanted to make sure we felt comfortable and at home during our stay. The house was very clean and completely turnkey, just as if you were staying at a hotel as they provided plenty of clean towels, washrags, and bedding, as well as a wide array of toiletries. The 2 bathrooms with 2 showers made it very practical for the 6 of us that stayed to get ready in a reasonable amount of time. And the 3 bedrooms along with a healthy amount of open common space did not make it feel like anyone was on top of each other one bit. Part of the open common space included a great covered backyard patio with outdoor furniture that made for a perfect place to relax and hang out while enjoying the weather outside. Natasha and Shari were 100% accessible and responsive from start to finish during the entire process. We had trouble locating the iron and ironing board, so while we were out during the day, Shari came by and put it out in the common area for us, in spite of me telling her it was not a big concern. They also allowed us to check in early upon arrival and out late on our check-out date to accommodate our flight schedule. I just really appreciated the genuineness and kind-hearted nature of both Natasha and Shari. I would absolutely recommend this property from all aspects, and if I return to Scottsdale, will certainly look into staying here again!
