  • Serene Desert Oasis

    5 of 5

If you want a quiet vacation place, but still want to be near restaurants, stores, etc., this is a great place for that. The house is set back off the road, and is very nicely decorated. It has all the conveniences of a home (refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer) and has 2 separate bedrooms and a common room in the middle (kitchen/dining/living area). The bedrooms each have a bathroom, but all facilities are open to the room (zero privacy if someone else is in the bedroom with you). Maribel is a very friendly hostess and met us at the house to give us a tour and answer any questions. The only (minor) downside is that the only TV available is a very small 18" screen with only internet (Netflix, Hulu, or Sling). NO network or local TV. We enjoyed being there and liked the peaceful atmosphere.

  • Amazing home

    5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Tucson. It is more beautiful than the pictures portray. Just lovely! The communication went smoothly and Maribel and her husband were great! It is basically three rooms, a walled off bathroom in each bedroom. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with desert cactus and rock paths. We were surprised how close to town it is because of the desert surroundings shown in the photos. Very convenient to everything we needed or wanted to do. We come to Tucson often and we will check the availability of this casita before we look further for a place to stay.

  • Peaceful and beautiful

    4 of 5

This property is a gem located close to everything but surrounded by open desert. You can watch the quail and other desert animals from the living room. The house is beautifully decorated. There are however, a couple of things to be aware of. The bathrooms are not enclosed so are open to the bedrooms. This worked ok for us because it was just my mother and I we had separate rooms. Also the kitchen is lovely but don’t plan on doing a lot of cooking. We ate breakfast and lunch there, but mostly ate dinner out. The owners are wonderful and the property beautiful!

  • Enchanting Stay

    5 of 5

La Casa Que Canta is truly an enchanting place. It felt extremely private even though we were in the middle of town. Maribel was a delightful hostess and, once she walked us through the property, she left us to ourselves. We will definitely come back next time we are in the Tucson area.

  • Maribel was a kind, gracious and wonderful host!

    5 of 5

We found la Casa que Canta delightful, clean, and very relaxing. The atmosphere was such a welcoming change after traveling. We stayed 3 nights and the 2 bedroom worked perfectly for me and my husband with our 13 year old. Having free WiFi was appreciated especially by our daughter :) ! The pictures posted don’t offer the true feel of the casita. Plus Maribel has calming music playing and warming essential oils warming upon arrival, which really adds to the total experience. We loved having coffee outside in the AM watching the quail, rabbits and chipmunks. I think we saw what looked like prairie dogs too. The area is very quiet and was perfect for us. We will definitely be back some day, hopefully sooner than later!

  • Desert Dream

    5 of 5

This beautiful desert casita is the perfect place to relax, dream dreamy dreams, watch amazing sunsets and wake up refreshed to the sound of singing birds. Gorgeously decorated, the casita if full of doors that open to mountain views. When you do feel like leaving, downtown Tucson is an easy drive as are the museums and gardens - all worth a visit.

  • Charming, quiet and clean.

We loved staying at La Casa Que Canta. We will definitely come back. The casa is beautifully decorated and designed and probably one of the most private and peaceful places we have ever stayed.

  • Wonderful experience

    5 of 5

Everything about "Casita" is outstanding: high ceilings, exceptionally modern, clear and up-to-date. The decor is a creative blend of reclaimed Mexican wood beautifully formed and used for doors and the kitchen table. The beds are perfect: extra firm and comfortable. Although 2 couples might stay in the 2 bedroom accommodation, my wife and I felt it was perfect for 1 couple. The property itself is set within an exceptionally desirable area of Tucson with excellent access to literally everything: dining, hiking, stores and shops. Astonishingly, the location is exceptionally quite and nearly secluded. Maribel was delightful. We thought the price as a stone-cold bargain.

  • Beautiful Sonoran Desert Retreat

    5 of 5

The photo on HomeAway intrigued me, but the experience was beyond intrigue. La Casa Que Canta (The House that Sings) is tastefully new and old at the same time. The spaciousness was exquisite. The beds comfortable. The quietude appreciated. Maribel greeted us and we immediately felt welcomed. We recommend a visit to La Casa Que Canta in your near future. The Watson's Laguna Hills, CA

  • Great stay. Beautiful house and property!

    5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Que Canta. The house is beautifully decorated. The location is great! Grocery stores and restaurants are very close, yet it feels like you’re out in the Sonoran Desert. The house and property have a wonderful “old Spanish Tucson” feel. We look forward to staying here again.

  • Peaceful and Beautiful Surroundings - Enjoy!

    5 of 5

Every design element is appreciated of La Cases Que Canta from the lingering pathways on the expansive property on the outside to the interior decor in furniture, hand-carved doors, spa-like bathroom tiles, and comfortable beds. Lots of desert landscape and natural habitat to enjoy from your window seat or up close on a casual walk. Thanks for a restful time!

  • Incredible open-plan modern villa, great for two couples- wonderful desert landscape

    5 of 5

This is truly an unique and special place, developed with a lot of care and love by Maribel and John (the owners). Airy, open floor plan, with many historic touches such as wooden doors and hardware from Mexico. A modern floor plan, all the special touches that makes this 'the house that sings'. Located in a central part of Tucson (Trader Joe's just up the street!), but on several acres of desert landscape. Sit on the back porch in the evening and see javalinas, hummingbirds, desert wildlflowers and cottontail rabbits. We had a wonderful visit.

What an amazing place this is. Over the top amenities in a very peaceful setting that is so comfortable! We couldn't have been happier with the La Casa Que Canta. Everything you would need is withing walking distance and Maribel is an outstanding host. We will most certainly be back and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Tucson.

  • This is a unique property that has been meticulously furnished.

The overall property is very peaceful. It's hard to believe that you're in the middle of a large metro area. The owners were very gracious and non-intrusive. We would hope to rent it again if it's available.

  • Quiet Secluded beauty

    5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at La Casa Que Canta. The owners were quiet and unobtrusive yet available and helpful when we wanted it. The two bed two bath guest house was every thing my daughter and I needed for a quiet escape in Tucson. Light filled and spacious, the decor was absolutely amazing and you can see that the talented Maribel decorated this place with love. Picture Southwest meets Asian and European antiques mixed with a bit of industrial. Views of the Catalinas, lizards and birds abound. The nearby Trader Joes was wonderful to pick up breakfast items, wine and nibbles. Away from bustling down town Tucson but not to to far to run in to town for dinner. We'd absolutely stay again. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!
