This is the Scottsdale Home Away from Home ...
Our colorful home is more than a vacation rental. We are veteran travelers who prefer a home to a hotel. What makes a home away from home: a welcoming & well-kept house, comfy beds, central location, privacy for all, a well-equipped kitchen, plenty of clothes hangers, WIFI & space to work if necessary.
You just can't beat our location in Scottsdale. You're a few minutes' drive from the San Francisco Giants Spring Training Stadium (only a 35-minute walk or 20-minute trolley ride). Fashion Square, its upscale shops and restaurants, & 14 movie theaters are across the street. Fifth Avenue Shops & Old Town are within walking distance, or you can hop aboard one of the free trolleys that traverse Downtown Scottsdale. This is super convenient if you're into the vibrant nightlife in Old Town. PLUS, you are no farther than about 25 minutes by car from most anything else of interest in the Phoenix area... including the airport! The internationally acclaimed Musical Instrument Museum is about 25 minutes north, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West about 25 minutes northeast, and the fabulous Phoenix Art Museum is about 20 minutes west. You about 10 minutes from the Desert Botanical Garden going south; the legendary Biltmore neighborhood is a few minutes west; and there are numerous nearby resorts. Walk, run, or bike along the Arizona canal (we walk there all the time), or take advantage of one of the numerous nearby hiking trails.
Our lot is like a little urban oasis -- in the heart of downtown Scottsdale! The house is surrounded and shaded by native trees. The backyard is huge, and easily accommodates a PRIVATE pool as well as outdoor dining. The 3 bedrooms & 2 baths accommodate six guests easily, with comfortable queen-sized beds in each of the three bedrooms. Two bedrooms share a full bath, & the third bedroom has its own 3/4 bath. The kitchen is spacious & well-equipped (we live here part of the year, after all). There is plenty of seating in the living room, dining room, and breakfast room. We also have a propane gas grill available for your outdoor culinary efforts. There's a large table and six chairs for comfortable outside dining in the (huge) backyard. Oh... don't forget the POOL. Naturally, we are well-equipped with Wi-Fi & plenty of TV should you decide to forego all of the nearby activities & just stay home.
We have lots of maps and informational brochures for your use. The pool and backyard are surrounded by a wall, but the pool itself is not separately fenced. You will want to keep children with you at all times.

We stayed here for a girl's trip and Betsy was very accommodating and the house had everything we needed to be comfortable away from home. Loved the pool in the backyard. We hung out there the whole trip. House itself was cozy and beds were comfortable. Location was great and there was lots of restaurants and shops near by. The only down fall was the towel situation. Bring your own beach towel, for there was only 1 towel per person. I would recommend the house and would come back.

Our 4 day stay at Betsy's house was outstanding! The house is immaculate and extremely well equipped and the grounds are welcoming and well maintained. . Located in a quiet neighborhood close to Fashion Square, it is a quick drive to anywhere you might want to go in the Scottsdale area. Betsy provides a plethora of of knowledge as far as things to do and see, the most I have ever received at a rental. We were extremely happy with our stay, a very welcoming and comfortable home.

Wonderful Arizona experience

I felt like I was staying at my favorite Aunt's retirement AZ home. Terrific. Classic old school AZ home in a superb location., you will be very happy at this home. It has everything you need, comfortable beds (a huge for me), functional kitchen, great TV/cable.
We didn't use the pool and barbecue as it was the height of summer and some dust storms came in, but we really enjoyed the more limited time we were able to spend outdoors. Huge patio awning too.... it's great.
One of the best location in Scottsdale. The property is right in the heart of old town - you can walk to Fashion square mall.... but its positioned in such a way that you have a ton of privacy and you would never know the level of activity happening the next block over.
Everything you need is provided and lots of directions and tips on how to enjoy your vacation. Homeowner and the property manager were amazing. The property manager lives in a separate home on the large property and was right there to handle issues (i.e. after big AZ storm clean up, etc.). Just wonderful.
I wish I could afford to stay here in season!

Everything about the house was perfect. The location was within walking distance of many restaurants and entertainment. The backyard was a perfect space to spend the days in the pool and relaxing in the sun. The house was well stocked with all necessities and the owner is very accommodating to guests. I would love to stay at this house every trip we take to Arizona!

A perfect space for our family

The entire space, from the bedrooms to the living area and kitchen, were so nice and spacious and comfortable for our family of five. Then there's the back patio and pool, which really makes this place special! So many places to sit and congregate, eat/drink and relax, and a pool (with shade umbrella!) that entertained us all for hours. The location is perfect for accessing Scottsdale and our hosts were so responsive and generous in all ways. Thanks again for making our summer trip to the desert a comfortable one!

My wife and I and two dear friends from Australia really enjoyed our stay at Betsy Brill´s lovely bungalow. Betsy and her daughter were very polite and helpful as we planned our trip. They were very thorough in providing clear directions on how to get to their home. Inside their clean and tidy home was a booklet called "Please read me.†This booklet was full of helpful information about the home, the neighbourhood and sightseeing suggestions.
It was warm during our stay and the air conditioning provided welcome relief from the daytime heat.
The kitchen was well stocked and the full size washer and dryer was a huge bonus as our friends had been travelling already for several weeks and they were able to catch up on their laundry. We were also also able to use the TV to record in HD the Formula One race to enjoy it a bit later in the day. We enjoyed barbecuing steaks and vegetables and sitting out on the covered patio with the outdoor ceiling fans.
We had a late flight out on the Monday so Betsy allowed a later checkout which was very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend this home to others.

Great house, great location, great pool

We stayed here in April of 2018 with another couple. I was a bit nervous about this booking because all the reviews were perfect and I had a "it is too go to be true feelingâ€. I am happy to say I was wrong. The pictures do not really do this house justice. It was really nicely decorated and all furnishings and appliances worked great. The communication from Betsy was deserving of a "Super Host†title and even on arrival Dee stopped by to introduce herself and make sure we had her contact info. By far the best part was the pool and location. We could walk to Scottsdale, the fashion area and all the restaurants easily. The pool was kept up perfectly and the covered area with BBQ was huge and well used by us. There was not a detail missing, right down to floaties for the pool. Any issues we had while there were taken care of right away. I would highly recommend this property for anyone going to Scottsdale. Thank you Betsy!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home, it is within walking distance of Fashion Square Mall and Old Town! It is an inviting, comfortable home with a lovely swimming pool and a resident flock of quail! Beautifully back patio with a barbecue. Very comfortable beds! Very responsive hosts!

I stayed with my 2 other girl friends for Ladies weekend away from it all. We wanted an oasis with space to spread out and we found a wonderful warm home waiting for us.
Excellent location, nice quiet neighborhood for walking, wonderful cozy bedrooms and setting areas, but the best part was the backyard! Covered porch overlooking the pool. Even though we never went in (too chilly), we just totally loved hanging out outside in the backyard.
Also, the hosts couldn't have been easier to work with! They were in touch with us in advance with packing suggestions and details about the home. Everything was extremely well stocked so we didn't have to worry about things like dishwasher detergent and such. It was like having all the conveniences of your own home, in a lovely sunny space!

The listing details of this lovely home are on point. The house is very spacious, clean and basically a tiny oasis. Betsy was super easy to work with. The house has privacy but is very close to stores and several eateries. You need to stay here now!!!

Most relaxing trip to Scottsdale yet!

I came to town for a business trip and instead of being stuck in a hotel, I decided to enjoy the weekend in this area while catching some R&R. This home is ideally located, so I was able to get some shopping in at the mall, had time to see the Desert Botanical Garden, and dine out at some yummy restaurants. The home is beautifully furnished and comes stocked with super amenities including shampoo, conditioner, soap, cotton pads and Q-tips...Since this was a business trip, I was very pleased with the strong WIFI, and having a desk to work on. The owners are extremely accommodating and I will visit them again for my next trip.

Perfect Location, sweet, quiet home

We came to Scottsdale visiting friends but wanted our own place to spread out. Betsy's home was perfect for our family of four. It's beautifully decorated. The kitchen and baths are well-stocked with anything you might need. We did a fair amount of cooking there and particularly appreciated the outdoor grill. The pool was also a big bonus! Good location for getting to area sites. We absolutely loved the Desert Botanical Gardens -- don't miss this! Also, very close to Fashion Square with great shopping and restaurants. Although it's close to amenities, the house is remarkably quiet, a major plus for me. We hope to return next time we're in town.

This is one of those rare vacation homes that´s so comfortable and convenient, you wish you could live there year-round! I stayed for just one pleasant week, and was sad to leave... The house itself is clean and spacious and tastefully furnished, with comfy furniture, modern kitchen appliances and bathroom facilities, big-screen TV, strong WiFi... You´ll especially appreciate the backyard pool!... Plus, the location is ideal – a secluded residential neighborhood that´s a short drive from the airport and a short walk to all the myriad shops, cafes, restaurants in lively Old Town... Make time in your schedule for a drive to at least one of the nearby world-class attractions, each of which can easily fill at least a half-day: the Frank Lloyd Wright house, the Phoenix art museum, the desert cactus gardens, and the international Musical Instrument Museum... Best of all, your gracious host Daria is warm & welcoming, knowledgeable about area attractions, and conveniently (but unobtrusively) lives right next door!... In all, a perfect spot for solitary tranquility, a romantic getaway, or fun for the whole family... Highly recommended!...

Betsy's home is absolutely wonderful. The moment I stepped inside I felt home. Very clean. Great wifi. Perfect location! I was able to open the windows at night and get a nice breeze and fresh air which was a huge plus since it was nice and quiet, while still nice and close to town! I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it!

This was an incredible, delightful surprise. The location is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, yet within walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale and the most exciting shopping center. Great restaurants abound.
The house has a warm feeling of Southwest Hospitality. The pool and grounds are lovely.
The owner obviously knows about travel because there are little, thoughtful things everywhere. It is also spotless. I particularly appreciated the beautiful colors and art. All my needs were taken care of perfectly. It truly felt like my home away from home.
I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.

This Scottsdale residence will forever hold a piece of my heart! From the moment I walked through its white picket fence up to its front door where I was greeted by a charming art statue of a welcoming ceramic man and his sombrero, to the warm back yard sunsets, and my choice of different colored bedrooms to rest my head, I left knowing I will be coming back! This clean home is equipped with a gourmet coffee maker, laundry machine, and is in walking distance to a mall---if that's your thing.
Cute details like wall decorations with positive messages and clean wood floors made my stay warm n' easy.
On my first night there, I had a gathering of women friends join me to hear about my recently published book. I found the kitchen perfect for entertaining and the living room was spacious enough to include us all comfortably. Even the property manager joined us (upon invitation) for my book-reading party. She is extremely warm and friendly and has been accommodating all the way through my stay--and post stay---considering I accidentally left my white suit there and she sent it back to me at my home address! (so kind.) The neighborhood is quiet and the sky is wide. Come on in!!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. Across the street from the Fashion Mall, minutes to Old Scottsdale, restaurants, etc. The owner was super helpful and went out of her way to ensure we had a pleasant stay and had all the little extras that we might need. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

This is the perfect house in the perfect location. My company owns Vacation Rentals and we were taking notes. Great communication & cleanliness, super cozy beds, tons of extras and a pool with an amazing outdoor area. My business partners and I were in for a real estate investing conference and had some REI guests over one night and everyone was impressed. My partner walked across the street to Fashion SwuRe almost everyday. We were 5min to the Choula head on Camelback and 5min to downtown Scottsdale. Thanks and great work!
