  • Cute & Comfy but Needs TLC

    3 of 5

I needed a place on short notice. Owner was acceptable to my 3 dogs. Overall, it worked out for my needs. Pros - Great views, secure w/gate entry, lots of privacy, location convenient to many businesses Cons - Musty smell. I burned scented candles which helped. Brown water from faucet. I used bottled water only. Property overall needs some TLC & updated touches Very limited TV channels; local channels only; ABC, CBS, PBS, NBC and some Hispanic channels due to antenna.

  • We loved the property, especially the outdoor space. The cottage was well supplied.

Cute cottage, nice location with a good view. A little hard to find at night. Great outdoor space but we were disappointed that the hot tub wasn't available. Would recommend it for a couple.

  • Great things come in little packages

    5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our week here very much. The casita, although very small, met all of our needs. It was clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of space was available outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine, the pool and the surrounding desert. Very private, too. The owner checked on us via email, otherwise she left us alone. The location is close to everything, yet it felt off the beaten path. The casita IS small - so if you require a lot of space, this is not the place for you. For the two of us, it was perfect.

  • Desert Views. Promised and delivered.

    4 of 5

The photos don’t lie folks! Nestled at the beginning of the Catalina Foothills, this location was perfect. A short drive to shopping and restaurants in one direction and beautiful desert wilderness in the other. Every morning I stepped outside and had my mind blown by the view. The view to price ratio is outstanding and the nearest neighbors are a good distance away and at different elevations so the property is very open and still feels private. The indoor space is small and cozy, great for my parter and I. We spent most of our stay out exploring and hiking so we only needed the minimal living space. Ample storage for clothing and food. The position of the shower head wasn’t my favorite, but the water was always hot and steady. I stayed in December and while the weather was beautiful, it wasn’t warm enough to want to swim in the large pool. I had noticed what looked like a hot tub in the photos. It was not listed in the description, but I hoped it would somehow be available anyway....it’s not lol. It is either not functioning or off limits, which I was ok with because it is not advertised at all. If it was available in the future I think that would make this great property even better. I hope to visit Tucson again and when I do I plan on staying here again. Cheers!

  • QUIET.....

    5 of 5

We stayed here 16 nights....it's out of the way, high enough off of River Rd traffic where the street noise is tolerable. Sunrise and sunset views are phenom. A small cottage, photos depict it accurately. Charming. Though the pool was ice cold, we stayed here during an unusual hot spell, and actually got IN the pool, or just soaked our feet as we watched the sunset, with a glass of wine! The couple of issues that arose were dealt with promptly. Highly recommend!

  • Property has nice views and privacy. Perfect for 2 people and a small dog.

    5 of 5

Sits up on a hilltop in the desert but close to everything you need. Heard coyotes at night. We had a couple of javelinas surround our truck one evening and decided to just let them have it and we stayed in! Reccomend you arrive in daylight for the first time. But once you know the way it is easy to access.

  • Beautiful desert views

    4 of 5

This is a sweet little guesthouse just off River Road. The views of the desert are spectacular and it feels remote, but it's quite convenient to things in the city. It feels safe with the gated entrance and owners nearby, although it's very private. It's good for a single or couple. There's a pool, although it was too cold to use in December. All the basics are in the kitchen (pans and dishes, not food). I did have a hard time finding it in the dark when I arrived, despite the good map, and that kept me from going out at night as much as I might have otherwise. I finally figured out it's 7/10 of a mile from Hacienda del Sol, and that the drive is at the spot where there are big 35 mph reflective markers marking a curve on River. A few more amenities like soap would be nice, but it was a nice place at an excellent price for the foothills.

Nice if you want privacy. Very small but we had everything we needed. The ambiance was a bit lacking but comfortable. Nice views.

  • Great help

    5 of 5

I did not have the opportunity to stay at this location due to last minute health issues, but after three days of trying to make a decision Meg went above and beyond being patient and helpful. Truly a nice person!

  • Hugh disappointment!

    1 of 5

The pictures were not true to the reality of the rental. It was basically a vacated property. When we first got there we walked in and it smelled musty. I called immediately and expressed my concerns. Was very old and so were the furnishings including the bedding and linens. We stayed two nights and left when we were suppose to stay 21 days. Luckily, we received 70% of our money back.
