  • Amazing views and location

    4 of 5

Stunning views and spacious house very close to national park. We stayed here for 3 days in January with our almost adult kids for hiking and sightseeing. Positives - AMAZING views, Lynne was super super helpful when we needed anything, lots of space for everyone, so incredibly close (10 minutes) to the national park and Desert Museum, HOT TUB! A few drawbacks (compared to other properties we've stayed in): the kitchen could use some towels&dishrags, lighting was kind of dim - maybe a few more lamps would help, Furniture in the dining area was not adequate for everyone to sit down together to dinner - a small table with 4 chairs or 4 bar stools at the counter, in general more furniture would be a plus here - comfy chairs in the living and sitting area would be a big improvement. Some nice patio furniture. Having said all that, it is clear in the photos what is there, so I don't think it is misrepresented, these are just suggestions to improve the overall experience. So that's why 4, not 5 stars, but we really had a great time here.

  • Very Special Desert Home

    5 of 5

We spent Christmas week at Lynne and Bill's beautiful home. Lynne was incredibly responsive and generous. The home's setting is truly special, with expansive views of the desert mountains and city. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

  • Did not Stay at Mountain Garden Estates

    4 of 5

Due to a gas leak that started before we arrived, Lynne and Bill had to move us to another one of their properties nearby. Lynne and Bill were quite apologetic and offered a partial refund without us asking. The second property, whose name I cannot remember, was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay and found the owners to be professional and courteous. I gave four stars because having to move means I do not really know what I missed by not being able to stay at the first property.

  • Great location for a relaxing weekend

    4 of 5

There were four of us in town for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for us. Nothing fancy, but it had everything we needed. The location is amazing for sitting on the back porch and admiring the view - the Santa Catalinas are endlessly fascinating as the light changes. Easy access to the Tucson Mountain Park and hiking, as well as the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Downtown is a short drive away. Lynne came by when we arrived to show us around the house and offer great suggestions for what to do. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • Beautiful, comfortable home. Close to Tucson yet in a nice quiet area

    5 of 5

My family & I rented this home for college graduation weekend. It was awesome. The home was fully equipped with plenty of linens & the kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of cooking supplies, plates & glasses. Such a lovely spacious home. I would highly recommend this property.

  • Beautiful location! Excellent house!

    5 of 5

This house had everything we needed for our all too brief southeast Arizona vacation! The property is located in a quiet neighborhood in the hills to the west of Tucson. Very close to Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park, yet also only minutes from shopping and dining. Lynne was great, meeting with us rather late at night to show everyone around the house, answer any questions we had, and provide very useful suggestions on what to do in the area. The rental had everything we needed for our stay, and we loved the layout of the house. Everyone especially loved breakfasts on the patio, and evenings in the hot tub. Centrally located, we were able to visit Tombstone, Chiricahua National Monument, Sabino Canyon, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, and Saguaro National Park. Upon Lynne's suggestion, we were also able to get beautiful sunset photos at West Gates Pass. We also took advantage of a few of Lynne and Bill's excellent dining recommendations. We had a wonderful time during our stay here, and look forward to coming back and spending more time at this beautiful property!

  • Terrific in every way!

    5 of 5

We spent a wonderful two-week vacation in this house. The house was immaculate, comfortable, and accommodating for three adults and a dog. Two of of the four of us (guess which) enjoyed a daily hot tub and drinks on the patio overlooking the city of Tucson. All of us looked forward to returning "home" after day trips to the Desert Museum, or Sabino Canyon, or Mexican food at Wisdoms, just south of Tupac, or Elgin and the wine country. Bill and Lynne were wonderful hosts and did everything they could to make our stay the best ever. What a wonderful place and what great new friends we have in them! We shall return.

  • Late Winter Family Get Together

    5 of 5

This was our first trip to Tucson and we were apprehensive. The property was everything we were expecting after reviewing the ad. The place was spotless when we arrived, it was comfortable, its location was wonderful for the things we wanted to do and see. So many of our friends have rented places in subdivisions where the houses were five feet apart. With this place we truly had the privacy for which we were hoping. Lynne provided information on some of the sites that were popular and she couldn't have been a better trip advisor. But even with all the favorable attributes of this property the one thing that really stuck out was that Lynne truly made us feel welcome. Thanks for that. We will definitely recommend your place in the future.....after we make our next year's reservation.

  • Very comfortable and clean vacation rental

    5 of 5

We have been to Tucson many times and this Gates Pass Vacation Home was by far, one of the best places we have stayed. Lynne is an extremely gracious hostess and made our stay so very comfortable that we WILL be coming back. Our family is a cooking group and this kitchen had everything that we could possibly want. It was most pleasant soaking in the hot tub in the evenings overlooking the city lights of Tucson. The location was perfect for our needs of Tucson and we look forward to our next stay.

  • Peaceful, relaxing, very accommodating, clean, and lots of fun!

    5 of 5

My husband and I, had marvelous stay here. Views were spectacular, very clean, and a wonderful layout. We enjoyed two weeks here, and felt so at home, and comfortable. Close to lots of hiking. The Sweetwater Preserve is 20 minutes away, with lots of trails, if you are not a regular hiker, or need to prepare yourself for longer, more taxing hikes. Loved the Desert Museum and Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens. Lynne & Bill were friendly, helpful, and available if needed. We will definitely be back!

  • Wonderful house, great location, and Lynne and Bill were fantastic.

    5 of 5

This was my first rental through VRBO and I couldn't be more pleased. The house was in fantastic condition, very comfortable and exactly as shown in the photos. The owners were fantastic and very attentive to my needs. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend some time in Tucson. It's close to shopping, but gets you out in the quiet without being remote. I'll be back again to enjoy this wonderful property. FYI, the views in the early morning/evening are spectacular.

  • The property is very clean and spacious with a beautiful view.

We were in town for my daughters graduation from UofA. The property is very clean and spacious with a beautiful view. Lynn was over right away to greet us and show us how to work the Jacuzzi. You felt very far away from the city when in actuality it was only 8 miles from campus. I would definitely recommend the property
