Our family of 5 had a great time at Shirley & Pete's home. The house was clean and comfortable with lots of details to make us feel at-home. Communication with the owners before and after check-in was great & they were accommodating and approachable should we have questions or need anything. The pool was the perfect spot to relax at the end of our AZ road trip. We'd be happy to stay there again if we make another trip to the area.

El Norte is in a great, quiet location. The house has everything a visitor to Tempe needs including comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and a great backyard with pool. Beach towels are provided. The property is well maintained and very clean. Love this place!

El Norte was well appointed with everything my family needed and more. We were completely impressed by all the amenities they provided - everything from shampoo, soap, paper towels & laundry detergent as well as kitchen extras like coffee, spices and refrigerator condiments. The house was extremely clean and well organized. My whole family especially loved the pool - 88 degrees and in pristine shape! Shirley and Pete are hands down the best property owners & we have been renting homes for over 15 years. I highly recommend renting this house - you won´t regret it!

We stayed at El Norte for several weeks in late Feb/early March. The house was provisioned with pretty much everything you could possibly need (shampoo, liquid bath soap, hand soap, dish and dishwasher soap, TP, paper towels, laundry soap and softener, etc). The pool was heated to a warm temp that was comfortable even in the cooler weather we experienced and we enjoyed the floating mats in the storage bin. The home was very clean and well maintained and we appreciated Shirley and Pete welcoming our little dog. If there is a show at the Tempe Center for the Arts we highly recommend it. Shirley provided a discount code for locals that we were able to use and saw a great show for $26 total! The location turned out to be a bit difficult for us given traffic flows as we wanted to attend baseball games in Peoria (it was close to an hour to get to an evening game). We were also a little surprised at the plane traffic over the backyard but probably shouldn´t have been as Sky Harbor is quite close. After the first couple of days I barely noticed the air traffic and they became more of a point of interest than an annoyance. We highly recommend the King bed over the queen in the master as well - the queen was much too soft for our backs. We would definitely recommend this house for those who want to visit the south Phoenix area as well as downtown Scottsdale and can enjoy the pool in a bit warmer weather than we had this year. Also recommend the Perfect Pear Bistro and Cafe Lalibella (Ethiopian) which are both within a short walk. Cornish Pasties were good too although it is definitely a dark tavern vibe inside. Shirley and Pete were really perfect hosts - helpful when needed but not obtrusive.

Our family stayed one week at El Norte and absolutely loved Shirley and Pete's rental home! It is located in a quiet neighborhood close to restaurants, stores and ASU. It is also super convenient to freeways and the airport. But most of all, we loved it because it felt much more inviting than other rentals due to all of the nice touches that Shirley and Pete have thought of - like coffee, condiments, shampoo, laundry soap, kitchen accessories etc. There was also an abundance of towels, glassware, and dishes so you didn't need to wash each day. Unfortunately the weather was a little colder than normal but we still enjoyed the pool area very much and can't wait to return when it is warmer. Shirley and Pete also checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were doing well. Such amazing hosts! Thank you! We look forward to our next visit!

This property was exactly as advertised. Spotless, great location, wonderful pool. Would most definitely stay there again. Within walking distance to many restaurant and Asu.

Our stay at El Norte was wonderful. Shirley was very accommodating and easy to work with. Everything was in tip top shape and the house was well stocked. We enjoyed the warm pool every day even though the weather was cool. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Our stay at El Norte was one of the best short-term rental experiences that my family has had. The house was comfortable and very well-equipped. Owners Shirley and Pete were communicative from the moment we made the reservation, and were careful to provide all the information, plus little bonuses, that make travel to a new city not just easy but extra pleasant. My kids were thrilled to be swimming in January, and I loved the walk-able neighborhood with its hip university vibe, the park only a block away, and the easy access to the rest of the big city. Thanks! It was a lovely stay.

Clean, comfortable, and close to ASU! This is our third stay in this property and we love it! Pete and Shirley have done a fabulous job of stocking this house with everything a family needs in a getaway home! We stayed during our Son Devil´s graduation week and the convenience of being so close to the Tempe campus along with space to entertain his friends and have a small celebration was ideal!

Perfect for grilling and swimming with our 2 college "kids” we came to visit with our own 4! Located so close to ASU. Great restaurants close by. Bedrooms and bathrooms worked great for our family of 6! Kitchen was so well stocked with condiments that we were able to have hamburgers without over buying for it!

We arrived in Phoenix on a typically hot Arizona day, after a morning viewing the Grand Canyon. It was a great feeling to enter "El Norte" and find a most welcoming property, with the very efficient aircon working away quietly in the background, and outside was the equally welcoming pool which managed to keep it's cool on the hottest of days. Every feature of the property is kept in first class order and is spotlessly clean throughout, and it is a credit to Shirley, Pete, and their team. We had booked this property as a break in the middle of our month long road trip taking in much of the Southwest, and we got exactly what we wanted, with little need to move from the property over the four days of our stay! Ann was well pleased with the kitchen facilities and we wined and dined by the pool at all times. Add in a comfortable bed and good plumbing and we had all we needed. We were in residence at a particularly hot time and we relished the generous shaded area at the rear which is all well planned and comfortable, coupled with the superb pool. We spent much of our time outside but it was also nice to retreat inside at the very hottest part of the day to "chill out". Shirley and Pete came to see us once we had settled in, and it was clear that they are both passionate about the presentation and standard of the property, and no doubt their other homes are just the same. It was a pleasure to meet them both and a privilege to share El Norte for a short time, and this will remain as one of the many memorable highlights of our trip. El Norte was perfect for our children and grandchildren as our daughter-in-law attended a workshop at ASU. The pool and pool toys were perfect for our small grandchildren, and all of those little perks, such as tea, thick snuggly pool towels, shampoo, and every kitchen utensil just added to our comfort. What a fabulous property! The house was gorgeous as well as the outside area. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. It was quiet and private but close to many things.

This is by far the best VRBO rental I have used. This is my second time staying at this property and it was just as great as it was the first time. It amazes me the care and detail the owners put into this house. Even staying here a year later the house looks to be in just as good a shape as it did the year before which just goes to show the owners take great care and pride in his house. There are so many things to like about this property from the house and all the amenities that are inside this house. The really nice backyard that has a pool, television and lots of seating. Also, the four bikes that are great to use to get around Tempe. I definitely look forward to staying at this property again.

The house was great for our family of 5. It was very clean and inviting. Shirley was awesome to work with too! My 3 kids loved the pool and used it a lot while we enjoyed the patio area. Had a great experience overall!

El Norte is a very comfortable property. It is well stocked - even pool towels and bikes (with helmets) are provided. We enjoyed the beautiful back yard and pool daily and grilled outside one evening. The owner, Shirley, is friendly and helpful,.

Pete and Shirley's home was perfect for us to spend the holidays with our oldest daughter who is a grad-student at ASU. We were very happy to be able to bring our family dog along too. He loved going to the nearby dog park every day. The house was very comfortable and the location was super convenient for us. We enjoy cooking together and were very pleased with how well appointed the kitchen was. There were plenty of plates, cup, glasses, silverware, cookware, bowls, bakeware, everything we needed to prepare family dinners including a multi course Christmas dinner. The kitchen was also stocked with basics like olive oil, tea, coffee, salt, pepper, herbs and spices, even a bottle of wine. We also enjoyed the heated pool. Coming from a much colder part of the country it was a real luxury to be able to swim in December! Thanks, for sharing your home with us.

This is a perfect spot for Ironman! There were 6 of us that stayed here, 4 adults and 2 kids. The house was close to all the festivities for Ironman and an easy ride up to the main area with plenty of parking. The house was tidy, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The pool is just fantastic and to have it heated in Nov was awesome. The kids and adults enjoyed the pool, relaxing outside, and even being able to eat outside- a treat for us from Seattle this time of year. Lots of food and grocery options nearby...even a Starbucks just down the block thats walkable. Shirley was great, responsive, and allowed us to get into the house early. Thank you very much! Whether it's for Ironman, Spring Training, ASU activities, or anything else, I would definitely rent this property from Shirley again!

This place surpassed my expectations in every way. Immaculate, beautifully decorated, well appointed & convenient. Can't wait to visit again! And for guests with dogs, there is a large fenced in dog park at the end of the street in Mitchell Park.

This place was so close to everything we needed. Our grandsons practically stayed in the pool. The outside tv was a plus. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautful home.

Shirley was awesome, providing a brochure of important details of the home. Home was very clean, and Everything we needed was there. It was nice having washer and dryer so we didn't have to bring home dirty clothes. Nice, quiet neighborhood. All went well, no problems at all. Thanks for letting us use your lovely home!

What a wonderful roomy, beautiful home. The owner met us when we arrived, giving us a quick lesson on the nuances of the home. She provided everything we needed, including a welcoming bottle of wine!! The pool was a lot of fun. The beds are comfortable. The house was the cleanest vrbo house I've ever been in. We will stay here again on our next trip!! Thanks to Shirley for making our trip one to remember.

We just loved this property and highly recommend it! Attractive, charming, comfortable AND a nice pool, backyard and lounging area. TV's throughout. You will not be sorry to decide to book this one. We had four adults, enjoyed the bicycles provided, and loved touring around the area before and after the championship Final Four game and the last game of Spring Training at the Rockies/D-Backs awesome facility. The owners are a delight. We plan to return!

This house was an ideal place to stay and had everything you could need. The house was very clean and the owners were great. They called to make sure everything was good and asked if we had any questions. This house is located less then a mile from Mill Ave which has a lot to offer and the bikes that came with the house made for a quick ride there. The backyard was also a great place to hang out and relax. Will definitely rent this house again.
