  • Beautiful place and area

    5 of 5

This home was a perfect fit for our needs and would certainly be somewhere we'd consider staying at again in the future.

  • Spectacular Home

    5 of 5

WOW!!! This is a spectacular house. Its been in our family bucket list to stay in a cabin for quite awhile. This home has a private spacious area. We had 4 families under one roof a total of 20 people over the New Years weekend. We didn't feel crowded at all. Mark made it super easy to plan this trip! He answered all my questions and was quick to respond. The Kitchen was well equipped. The rooms were very spacious as well. Our family ranged of adults, teens and one toddler and we all enjoyed the outdoors and main living room the most. It snowed on New Years Eve and that made out trip even more memorable. Thank You!

  • Beautiful home, wonderful layout for socializing, great bed sizes for grown children + spouses&kids

    5 of 5

We had a lovely time. The house worked fantastic for our large family with spouses and children. The grassy area and basketball hoop was highly popular. The kitchen worked well for our children who love to cook. (Note: the hand held can opener was broke. We just picked up a new one. A replacement might be in order) The large dining table made for a great game table and the desk for our annual puzzle. The downstairs theatre room hosted several Christmas movies every evening. Grandpa and the kids tried a little fishing in the pond. The elk were out and about throughout the day. We look a little walk through part of the Houston trail and had a friendly neighborhood guide dog that led the way, who seemed to take on the responsibility of leading the way. We would rent here again! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

  • The Olson Reunion

    5 of 5

The inside was beautiful and very clean with lots of equipment in the kitchen to accommodate our family. It was well stocked with toilet paper and towels and trash bags. The outside didn’t seem to be as well kept up. Lots of cobwebs on the house and sprinklers were on too often. The family absolutely loved fishing in the fish pond and they spent many happy hours there. We throughly injoyed our stay and would love to come back next year.

  • Homey and Comfortable place for Our Family Reunion.

    4 of 5

The beds were a little high, but we all slept well. Architecture and furnishings are the best! Balcony and views are beautiful. Children out door play well facilitated with balls and all provided. Owner contact, for advice, easy to gain and positive. All family responds that we'd like to return here in 2 years for another reunion.

  • Beautiful spot for our large family.

    5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Payson. Large extended family and we all had our own space for sleeping and so much room for socializing and games. We enjoyed the pond, the tether ball, and the horseshoes! The house had everything we needed, ample parking for our vehicles, and just overall Wow! Highly recommend for large groups! So much fun.

  • Wonderful!

    5 of 5

The property was beautiful! We had rented it for a family reunion and it fit our circumstances perfectly. There was plenty of space for activities and games; horseshoes, pool, basketball, tetherball etc... The pond was a huge hit with the kiddos! We had a family movie/game night and were able to have a kid show playing downstairs, games at the tables and a teen movie upstairs. It was great! Mark was very easy to work with and responded promptly for any questions. We had a wonderful time! Highly recommend!

  • Christmas in July!

    5 of 5

We loved the location and the functionality of the property. Even though we had 15 people staying there (including 2 small children), we did not feel like we were on top of each other. Lot's of things to do on the property itself. My son loved the fishing (until he caught a fish big enough to snap my fishing pole in half)! We played basketball, horse shoes, tetherball, games, etc. Also made a couple of day trips, including one to nearby Christopher Creek for lunch and hiking. There are a few things about the house that need some TLC. The place is over 20 years old, and it is starting to show. A couple of the guests spoke about shower valves that need replacing because they spray sideways, one shower valve in the master bedroom did not have a handle, but there are two heads, so no big deal. The fountain was not working, again no big deal, but it would have been cool to see. The pool table felt is ripped near one of the corner pockets, and the pool cues need replacing. The ice maker in the upstairs refer did not work. None of these thing are deal breakers, just little nuisance's. Back to the good stuff, The kitchen on the main floor is very well appointed. Having two dishwashers was helpful, and there are tons of pots and pans, utensils, etc. Nice wine fridge to keep all sorts of beverages cold was handy. Overall this is a great place for a family gathering. Mark the owner was very responsive as well. If this means anything, I will definitely go back some day!

  • A large cabin full of various places for writers to create

    4 of 5

Lovely place to come, large bedrooms, many tables, great views. We've gone three years in a row and want to come back. We hope some maintenance issues are taken care of before the next visit. The one horrid event was to arrive and find no corkscrew for the wine. There are lots of utensils for everything, but this year for the first time no corkscrew.

  • Amazing experience for our group!

    5 of 5

We spent a full weekend here with a group of young adults on retreat and the house was amazing! Our group of 23 was extremely comfortable and happy. We felt spoiled with all the little things this home has to offer. We left our truck parked in the garage loaded with much of the gear we usually have to bring but realize we obviously overpacked for this beautiful HomeAway. The home was easy to heat and cool. Luxury accommodations throughout! Located in a rustic area with local stores and restaurants only a few minutes away. Mark was both personable and professional throughout! He was always only a text message away and that was something I truly appreciated. We will definitely be back again!

We have stayed several times and it is getting a bit rundown. It is not being kept up as it was in the past. Great space for a group of family, friends or co-workers. Would still stay.

  • Great Vacation Rental with tons of space!

    5 of 5

I rented this cabin for my 30th Birthday and brought along a total of 14 friends. There was plenty of room and big king size beds, so everyone slept comfortably. We cooked all of our food on the BBQ grill and in the kitchen. The only thing I would suggest to the owner, is to upgrade the old coffee pots to a Keurig. We went through a lot of coffee and it takes a while for the pots to brew. There was tons of seating outside, sports to play and hiking nearby. The Owner- Mark, was very easy to work with and super friendly. We hope to visit again someday!

  • Perfect for large group with kids.

    5 of 5

We stayed two nights with 8 couples and 15 kids. It was crazy but perfect for our group. The kids explored and fished in the pond. Every family had a room. The casita is great. The home is well stocked and lots of space to hang out and play. Lots of areas to walk. Close enough to town to get supplies as you need them. The owner, Mark, is quick to respond to questions and very helpful. Thanks Mark very much and we hope to stay again!

Pros: The property is very beautiful. Plenty of parking which helps when you have a big group as we did. Easy access in and out and not far from Payson or Star Valley if you need any supplies. All the bedrooms are well appointed and very large with plenty of closet space. The kitchens are well equipped with all the needed utensils. All you need is you food and drink. Very nice down stairs with a very user friendly wet bar and kitchen. Access out to the deck and down stairs patio is very easy. Nice views of the green grassy yard out front and the small pond. Early morning elk visits and cool evening temps made it nice for sitting on the deck and relaxing. Cons: The first thing we found that the house needs some TLC. It is an older place, well built, but some attention to some things would make this a 5 star. There was no list or information on site to help with some of the things we wanted to use or view. We never found a way to turn on the fountain in the pond. In the picture it looks beautiful and my guests would have liked to see it but info on how to turn it on. I really didn't want to bother the owner with some of these things but an information leaflet would be very helpful. The pool table in the garage had 2-3 tears in it about 4 inches long so playing a game was trying at best. Several guests wanted to listen to some music but there is no stereo on site so bring you own radio or I-pod. All but 2 TVs in the house never got working. Several people tried with no success. No information on site on house to turn on the fireplaces which there are several. Again, an information leaflet is really need here. In the age of electric technology today almost all areas have WI-FI. This place does but again, no info on what the password was. Called the owner on this one but never got a response until 2 days later and it was an email to my house. I had requested a text. Mark was very accommodating so I don't want you to get the wrong idea that he was just ignoring me. He may have not gotten my text right away or was busy. Some of the doors in the house need adjusting as they didn't close or open well. It really took some pulling to get them open or closed. Outdoor lighting at night was minimal and where there was lighting half the bulbs didn't work. All in all is was a great time and I would stay again. This was very relaxing or fun which ever you wanted. A place this big needs attention and this one could use a little more.

From my first contact with the owner to our departure, everything worked out smoothly. We used the property for a church staff and teacher retreat. Everyone raved about the place and we want to return next year! The beds and couches were comfy. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc. The porch offered lots of seating. The upstairs kitchen was well stocked. The downstairs kitchen was a blessing to house extra snacks and beverages.

This home is well equipped with everything we needed for our annual family reunion. Plenty of space for 5 couples and 5 teenage children. The property was well cared for with plenty of space for outdoor recreational activities. Easy access for mountain biking and hiking on gorgeous trails. Also plenty of seating options for dining indoors and outdoors on the patio. This house also has 2 full size kitchens perfect for meal prep for large family gatherings. This is our new favorite gathering spot and we will definitely be back again next year.

  • Wow... understated luxury and room for everyone.

    5 of 5

We were there for 3 nights, for a family reunion. When you first walk through the door you are hit with the grandeur of massive wooden beams and a spacious family living area. The first thing i thought was how reminiscent it is of a national park hotel. There are something like 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms contained in and upper and lower living area In addition to a master suite, there is a mini master suite right off of the kitchen. it has a full deck on the upper level and a very large patio on the lower level. Payson can be fairly warm in the summer, and the house is kept at a perfect temperature. Around four or five, you naturally tend to drift outside to the cooling air temps. We spent the evenings playing outdoor recreations till dark. This is an ideal place for a large family reunion or even several couples wishing to spend time together. Every room is nicely decorated, and the beds are very comfortable. Ten minutes to downtown Payson, and 30 minuted to the top of the rim. Hiking opportunities every where. Everyone in our party had a great time, and each had plenty of room. Highly recommend, and already planning our next visit.

  • Beautiful mountain home for a family and friends getaway!

    5 of 5

We have rented this house the last two Memorial Day Weekends. The owner is very accommodating and easy to work with. This is the perfect rental home for a large family or group of families and friends. The pond was stocked and the kids and adults all enjoyed hours of fishing. We saw elk on the grounds every morning. The compound is very relaxing with great hiking and horseback riding nearby. The home itself if stocked with all of the essentials you need. A well decorated log home with comfortable beds and nice linens. We enjoyed relaxing and hanging at the home making meals together. We will be back! We had so much fun.

    5 of 5

We rented this cabin for our annual strategy/team building event. This space was perfect for our team and everyone enjoyed themselves without being crowded. The outdoor space was great for our corn hole boards and being able to BBQ was a plus as well. I highly recommend this space for large groups looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Arizona mountain pines.
