We enjoyed our anniversary weekend getaway at your cozy and comfortable cabin. We hiked at Washington Park. Beautiful scenery and trails. The pellet stove kept us warm at night. Thank you for the pancake mix and blackberry jam. They were delicious! I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy & warms up quickly with the pellet stove. Interior clean & well kept. Would love to see the grounds in summer. Fruit trees & lots of blackberry bushes. Loved the walk along the creek.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Blackberry cabin! It’s very quiet and peaceful with only the sound of the river. We were lucky that it had rained a lot the week before, so the river was flowing heavy. It was chilly so the pellet stove was the perfect warmth for us at night. The complimentary pancakes and blackberry jam were delicious! We brought our crockpot, only to find out there is one already there but the fully stocked kitchen was definitely a plus!! We loved our stay and will be coming back as often as we can!

  • what a comfortable Cabin!

    5 of 5

Well what wonderful retreat for us ! The details of this cabin make it very homey & comfy. ALL amenities were simply great. The sounds of the wildlife were sooo amazing. The Elk sounds were really something. And the birds....so many & so beautiful. The most unusual encounter was with a squirrel. It came down a branch very close to the back porch & it began to really give us a earful. It seemed as though this squirrel was a bit upset that either we were in her domain or that we hadn't put any treats on the railing. It was funny funny. All in all this was a very relaxing 2&1/2 days & just what we needed. My sister & I are both artists & have been very busy getting ready for the art show season which kicks off in October. So again, thank you Gabriel for your more than cozy cabin stay! WE would love to come back for sure

  • This is a beautiful well kept cabin in a beautiful quiet setting.

    5 of 5

The cabin was wonderful. It is in a beautiful setting with the East Verde river running at the back if the property. The trees and vines in the yard and along the fence made it very secluded. The cabin is very clean and welcoming. The kitchen had all the amenities needed to prepare all of our meals, we just brought the food. The back porche is a wonderful place to sit with your coffee in the morning and end the day with a nice glass of wine. In the morning we even hear the elks calling each other.

  • Perfect!

    5 of 5

Gabriel is a wonderful host, lets you know if you can check in earlier and answers all questions in full detail with a little extra information that is always good to know. Our 4 day weekend was nothing short of amazing. Everything you need and more is in the cabin, huge variety of spices, plenty of coffee cups and glasses, games and last but not least THE HAMMOCK. What fun that was :). The little stream was flowing gently and we got to witness a wave of water coming down from upstream, never seen anything like that before. Luckily we scampered to the stream edge, otherwise we would have been surrounded by water. Pancakes and blackberry jam, such a special touch. We were having so much fun on the day we had to leave that we completely lost touch with time. When we realized we were supposed to have left 1/2 hour earlier we flew around the cabin packing our belongings very sad to leave our little haven or as we called it, our little piece of heaven. Thank you for a truly wonderful get-a-away.

  • Cozy and cool.

    5 of 5

We had a great two days at the cabin. With the rainstorms we were able to enjoy seeing the changes in the nearby river. We saw elk and other animals. We learned that on the second Saturday of the month, the local Whispering Fire department has a fundraising breakfast. We walked to the fire station and joined in. Easy 20 minute drive into Payson. House was comfortable and quiet. The driveway into the cabin has a tricky, sharp left hand turn that was challenging for my long pickup. Also, there isn’t room on the property to turnaround so we just had to backup. Not a huge issue, and worth overlooking. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Loved our stay, but had a hard time handling those treacherous stairs (no hand rail on one side), especially during a night time bathroom visit. Ended up sleeping on living room couches so we could use bathroom (we are seniors!!). unfortunately no water in the creek/river. peaceful and a beautiful back yard.

  • Worth doing again!

    4 of 5

This was a 30th birthday gift for my son. He and his girlfriend loved it saying the cabin was beautiful, fully equipped and private. The reason for only 4 stars is I picked this cabin because almost all of the reviews talked about the creek running in back of the property as well as several photo's highlighting this feature of renting this cabin. My son LOVES the water. Several reviews even talk about being able to hear the soothing sound of the water running while relaxing on the porch. My son was disappointed (and then so was I) that the creek was dried up. There isn't info mentioning that the creek is seasonal. I'm just happy that the cabin was so dang nice, that he didn't let that drawback keep them from having a wonderful time and he said it would be worth renting again. Next time we'll be asking when the creek is present!

  • Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location

    5 of 5

This cabin was just what we needed for a short reprieve from the city heat. I've always loved the Whispering Pines area and the cabin is situated in a quiet location in the trees and next to the creek. The yard was wonderful and I really enjoyed putting my lawn chair out under the trees and reading while listening to the wind and the birds. Looking forward to coming up again when the stream is flowing.

  • Charming, Cozy, and Clean Cabin

    5 of 5

What can I say? Beautiful location! Gorgeous views! Since most of the parks and trails were closed due to the fire hazard, we stayed in, sitting on the patio for the most part, and enjoyed every bit of it. The peace & quiet, the 20 degrees cooler temperatures than Chandler (where we were visiting from), and the coziness & comfort of this wonderful cabin made our trip worthwhile. We were especially impressed by owners’ hospitality and thoughtfulness. The homemade raspberry jam was the icing on the cake. Did I mention that it was extremely clean and had everything that any guest would need during their stay? Thanks Gabriel and family for everything. We will definitely visit again. Syed, Uzma, and kids.

  • Great cabin with all the features of your own home

    5 of 5

Gabriel is an excellent owner, is very involved and provides everything. The place is just what we needed, a great place to stay with all the comforts of home. Plenty of space, great views, fully loaded with everything you'd need, just bring food. The water shortage in the river was the only bummer, but plenty of Elk wandered by to provide a show! Thanks for everything.

  • Beautiful

    5 of 5

My husband and I loved this cabin! Though the fire danger in the area was so high that most of the trails were closed we still found plenty to do and see. The creek was almost nonexistent due to the drought but the canyon was still beautiful. The best part was waking up to a herd of elks (I think) every morning. There were lots of birds, including humming birds. The neighbors didn't seem to mind strangers moving in for a week too much and it was mostly quiet and pretty private. The kitchen was well stocked and had the sharpest knives of any VRBO we have stayed at, and we've stayed in plenty. The loft was comfortable - we slept like babes in the Arizona woods. We highly recommend Blackberry Cabin.

Loved it. Was a short wedding weekend, ( my sister’s) so only bummer is we didn’t get to stay long enough or spend enough time at the cabin. My mom and I stayed there together. Definitely will like to come back another time and enjoy it more. My brother and his family came by to say hi and loved it so much they asked if they could go get their lunch stuff from their place and make it and hang out with us at our cabin bc it was so much nicer than where they were staying they said! So they did and we had a great time sitting on the porch and in the back yard. My mom wanted to move in and stay there! :)

Cabin was lovely. Very cozy and welcoming, however, spent most of our time on the big porch, sitting out in the yard, or down at the river/creek. Can't say enough about Gabriel! Very accommodating and genuinely concerned that your stay exceeds your expectations, and it did! The Blackberry jam and pancake mix are the kind of touches that proves that these owners care about their visitor's experience. Will definitely being staying there again n the future.

This cabin was better than I expected. From the moment I checked out I was already planning to come back! It was a beautiful, clean, well-decorated cabin with a fully stocked kitchen. All we had to do is to buy what we wanted to cook. The grill was as clean as new. The creek was a huge plus as it is just outside the door. The bed was comfortable. Last time we were here it wasn’t blueberry season, so we are hoping to be back and get some when its season. The owner was very helpful answering our questions. The location is around lots of hiking trails to enjoy Payson. I would definitely recommend it.

My boyfriend and I loved escaping the city to blackberry cabin. The owners had homemade jam and a pancake mix along with a note and some fresh blueberries. The cabin was clean and had all of the essentials, everything was exactly where you thought it should be. The backyard and porch was blissful, we enjoyed grilling multiple times. Hiking trails were very close, of course you could just walk along the creek right outside the backyard. We will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful, quiet, and relaxing! Well thought out for guests

    5 of 5

Beautiful property and very well kept even with landscaping. The creek is close behind the secured property and you can hear it with the window open at night or sitting on the back porch - very relaxing to listen to. There’s a lot of detail that went into making sure guests have pretty much everything they need which makes it even easier to escape and relax from it all without hauling everything from home with you. If you’re going to grill out back after dark since sun goes down about 5:45/6 this time of year, make sure to bring a small lantern or a grill snake light with you as the grill is about 50 feet from the house and it’s hard to see without holding you phone light up (when you usually need 2 hands for safety). Not a flaw at all, just a recommendation. Would definitely recommend to friends and family, we hope to be back some day! Thank you so much for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Gabriel's place was fantastic. My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon and it was everything we could have hoped for. We kept the windows open at night to listen to the river running. We enjoyed the loft of the house. Upon arrival, there were champagne and strawberries to celebrate our marriage. It was clean, it was nice, the shower pressure was great and overall, it was everything we hoped for: a seriously beautiful, woodsy retreat. I could not recommend his cabin more!!

The adorable Blackberry Cabin was exactly what our family needed to decompress from everyday life. No Cell Service allowed my Hubby to ditch work for a few days and even with Wi-Fi we all took a break from electronics and enjoyed the river and the pines. We would definitely visit again and spend some quality family time fishing and relaxing.

  • Wonderful place to relax

    5 of 5

We loved our stay in Blackberry Cabin. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Being right on the river was a treat. My husband enjoyed fishing from the bank, and I brought a hammock to lie in and enjoy reading while listening to the river run. The kitchen had all we needed to make several great meals. Lots of towels in the bathroom. Extra bedding in the armoire downstairs. You seriously just need to bring the food you want to cook and you're ready to be on vacation. The only thing we found less than perfect was that the bed was too firm for our liking. But we're accustomed to a cal king foam bed, and realize that this is something that is very subjective. There are so many activities in the area to enjoy. We spent our time hiking, fishing, reading and just relaxing. I suggest you hike Water Wheel, which is a short easy hike. Woods Canyon Lake isn't that far, and the view from their Rim is amazing. If you like to hike, the hike around the lake provides gorgeous views. Depending on how closely you follow the trail, it's 4-5 miles of easy hiking. We're hoping to return this winter, but stay an extra day. We loved this cabin and our weekend away.

First and foremost my husband and I would like to thank the Moore's for sharing their beautiful cabin. It was a great two days! As we first opened the door stepping into the cabin for the first time, the aroma of fresh pine wood filled our hearts immediately. The cabin is beautiful, cozy, and filled with all accommodations you can think of.The backyard is amazing with their fruit trees, grass, and blackberry bushes. Listening and being able to hear the Gila River flowing while sitting on the back porch is simply one of Gods greatest creations! Thank you, Jesus and Catina Garcia
