  • Sweet Simplicity

    5 of 5

We loved the studio space we stayed in. It's in an area we like to go to chill at night. Simple and has everything you need to make yummy meals for yourself. There's even enough space for 2 people to do yoga! I really enjoyed the cool floor tiles. Debra takes great care of her property and it shows.

  • Pleasant, efficient space in the heart of Tucson

    5 of 5

"HomeAway" is the perfect trademark because during the month my wife and I stayed here it quickly became like a home to us. Located within easy walking distance from the University, 4th Avenue and downtown. Also close to bus and streetcar. We stayed for one month and although we did a lot of tourism in that time, we also spent a good bit of time just relaxing and enjoying our little house and garden. Our landlady was a pleasure to deal with, and we plan to stay here again the next time we come to Tucson. Although the space is compact, it is efficiently laid out. The kitchen is fully functional and we had a number of home-cooked meals. Boutique grocery stores as well as supermarkets are close by. The only downside is that there is a park a few blocks to the north which attracts homeless people, and you might see them from time to time passing through the area. But still a delightful neighborhood to stay in, and I never felt in danger walking alone or at night. Bird watchers will enjoy the garden visitors. The Tucson Audubon Society is a short walk away. The property is split into two units, so occasionally we had neighbors, both of whom were repeat customers. That's the kind of place this is. It's just been a couple of days and I already miss it.

  • Casa Amarillo West - Fun, Funky Little Bungalow

    5 of 5

We came to Tucson to hike and visit its unique botanical gardens and nurseries. Casa Amarillo West was the perfect place for the two of us to come back and relax after a day of exploration. We loved preparing our meals in the well-equipped, cute little kitchen while listening to the extensive collection of music provided for us. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the unique bathroom shower was a fun surprise for us. We loved eating our meals at the cozy table for two. We enjoy small, well-designed spaces that offer a unique settings and a taste of the local furnishings and style. While the location is in an edgy neighborhood, we always felt safe and comfortable and appreciated how easy it was to get to other areas of Tucson easily, safely and quickly. Debra was attentive, responsive and her attention to the comfort of her guests showed in many ways from the selection of coffee and teas, to the care taken in making sure the cottage met our needs. We would not hesitate to stay again. Fabulous find!

  • Convenient Location But A Bit "Industrial"

    4 of 5

The casita is convenient to downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona and many tourist sites, but it's on an narrow street/alley behind a not-very-vibrant business district and not far from the railroad tracks and a park with quite a few homeless folks living in it. We got used to the train noises and the homeless folks never bothered us, but the casita was not a place where we wanted to spend a lot of time; we just used it as a "home base" for sleeping and showering. And for that use, the place was a good value. As for interior amenities, the kitchen was adequate, but could have used more silverware; the linens were good, but the bed was softer than we like; and the AC worked fine, but it would have been nice if windows opened and stayed open by themselves (they were in very poor shape).

Great little place, perfect for 1 or 2 people. Kitchen had everything needed to cook my meals. Very comfortable. Worst part about it was that I had to pack up and go home. Awesome.

The apartment is ideally located for easy access in all directions. You will find some very good restaurants within walking distance toward the University. The apartment is very clean and well equipped with all necessities for a comfortable stay. The owner, Debra, is very accommodating.

Fit our needs perfectly for family weekend. Close to downtown and 1 mile from U of A. Debra was great! She met us on the property when we arrived even with our delays.
