Suzy has a lovely house in a lovely area, very quiet & quite convenient to all the necessities + some 1st class eateries within a short drive. Rich read on the patio almost every evening before we ate. Also enjoyed lovely mountain views. I forgot about the flower & tree pollen blooms in March that kept me inside more than I wanted to be.

 5.0   -   Great Location

We agree with all the previous great reviews. The house is in a great location and feels quite private. Suzy was easy to deal with and very helpful. The house was very clean and is well set-up to have guests, it is very bright and the pool would be great in the really hot weather. We would have liked to return next year but were not quick enough! The fact that Suzy's house is booked well in advance speaks for itself.

5.0   -   Home away from home!

First extended get-a-way since retiring and cant believe how fortunate we were to come across this jewel in the desert. Turned out to be more than we were expecting in comfort and luxury. The home is well adorned in Southwestern attire and while ensuring you know you're not at home it provides every comfort you could possibly want. The location in Oro Valley is perfect for exploring Tucson and the surrounding area and at the same time is conveniently located close to nearby restaurants, shopping and all the daily necessities required for ones extended vacation. Coffee outside early in the morning watching the sunrise over the Catalina mountains or the colours change in the mountain shadows at sunset can't be adequately described. It's a must see to believe situation. golfed every second to third day on many of the countless courses within a short drive and swam in the private perfectly sized pool every day for a month, what's not to love? Thanks Suzy for accommodating us in your remarkable home and we are already looking forward to our stay same time next year.

5.0   -   Beautiful home with stunning views in my favourite area of Tucson - couldn't ask for more!

This is an easy review to write as we loved our month stay at Casa Serena! The home is artfully decorated, and includes all the necessities and comfort you would expect in a luxury home. In retrospect, we spent most of our time outside on the patio enjoying the views of both the Catalina and the Tucson mountains. The patio is a lovely space, and on occasion, the sunsets were breathtaking. Inside we enjoyed the open kitchen and dining area, as well as the cozy sitting area around the TV. It is a magazine beautiful but comfortable house. I actually took a picture of the label on the master bedroom mattress so we could see about getting the same mattress at home! Suzy was a pleasure to work with from our initial booking and throughout our stay. She was available, helpful, and also really really nice! We also appreciated the Oro Valley location as we were close to all our favourite shops (i.e. Trader Joe's) and many good restaurants, as well as Tucson attractions like Biosphere 2 and the Degrazia Gallery. Definitely for us this stay was a five star experience.

5.0   -   Perfect Vacation Home in the Desert
Reviewed on Sep 03, 2016
This was our third year vacationing in Tucson while moving our daughter into the University of Arizona. We are so glad we found this perfect home in a quiet gated community in Oro Valley just north of Tucson. Each morning while we were there I looked forward to that nice cup of coffee watching the sun come up sitting and relaxing by the beautiful pool with incredible views. I especially liked the fact that there is a lot of privacy at this home. The neighbors are far enough apart and the backside of the home where the pool is located is adjacent to a quiet golf course. The home was updated and more than large enough for the four of us that stayed; 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Plenty of room to spread out in this nicely decorated home. Many restaurants, shopping and attractions within driving distance. It was about a 25 minute drive to our daughters dorm at the University of Arizona. Day trips to the Desert Museum, Reid Park Zoo and one night in Phoenix for a Diamondbacks are just some of the things we did during our stay. The owner is a great communicator from the time we inquired about this property until the time we checked out. Suzy made us feel welcome in her home the entire stay. Would definitely recommend this property and look forward to returning someday. To the owner Suzy, thanks for sharing your beautiful relaxing home with our family. Hope you will have us back again someday, this was by far the best property we've rented in Tucson!

5.0   -   Five Star Resort Living In Your Own Southwestern Art Museum
Reviewed on Jul 24, 2016
My husband and stayed in Casa Serena for the month of June and couldn´t be happier with any aspect of the experience. The house is gorgeous and fully appointed with the highest quality furnishings (including a supremely comfortable mattress) and genuine southwestern art and artifacts which are expertly displayed. The outdoor living space is as amazing as indoor, with several comfortable seating areas, a fan, and pristinely kept large pool. Despite being close to neighbors, it is very private. Lighting in and out was impressively ample and promoted ideal comfort with dimmers. The location is perfect for exploring any part of Tucson. While we rarely heard any traffic noise, the house is less than a half mile from a strip mall with some of the best restaurants in Oro Valley, a grocery store, and Starbucks. It´s accessible by sidewalk, and there are lots of places within the development on the golf course to walk right from the house. Many parks and endless shopping and restaurants within 5-10 minutes. The open views of the Catalina mountains, Tucson, and the golf course are beautiful (and accessed both inside and out), and from the patio we encountered just about every bird that we saw at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. Also saw javelinas graze at sunset and the occasional coyote. Worth noting is the patio is well-protected from unwanted critters with a high wall and solid gating. House, location, amenities and overall quality get an A+. Suzy gets an A+++. We´ve been fortunate to rent several homes from great owners but still have never had one as impressively responsive from booking to checkout as Suzy. She has clearly made it a priority to plan for every scenario for guest comfort in her home. We were there during a particularly bad heat wave (110-115 for several days) and she even called to check in that we were doing okay. This and other small but significant gestures suggests she is a "go above and beyond” owner. She also has an amazing housekeeper, as the home was immaculate and little touches such as arranging the tissue tops to look like flowers added further to the feeling like you were in a high end and very private resort. It´s a jewel of a find, and we can´t recommend it highly enough despite our fear that honest reports by renters will make it much more difficult to book!

This home is beautifully decorated and a showplace for museum-quality western cowboy artwork, rugs, ironwork (amazing!) and western paraphernalia. The ironwork horses are amazing! This home was a welcome refuge from our busy days during our stay in Tucson. The pool was wonderful and the views are amazing - almost every 5 minutes you get a different shade of mountain. The house is very clean, with plenty of room and all the comforts provided. Suzy was very responsive to any questions we had.

What an appropriate name for a home. Our favorite night time activity was watching the moon rise over the Santa Catalina Mountains. Mars introduced the show, followed by a plethora of stars punctuated by a few comets. We started our day sitting in a sun patch drinking coffee, then bobbed in the pool, followed by lunch, waited for the mountains to turn pink then grilled dinner and waited for the moon show. Tough life! Wandering the rooms of the home is like touring an Arizona museum, Old West cowboy paraphernalia mixed with Navaho rugs sets the stage for the most enjoyable relaxing week I have spent in years. We didn't go out for dinner, movies, shipping hiking as we all preferred just staying and hanging out together Congrats on creating the most comfortable, welcoming home away from home.

I spent a week at Casa Serena in September 2015. This home exceeded all my expectations, situated on a golf course in the heart of Oro Valley with outstanding views of the Catalina mountains. Mornings were spent having coffee by the pool, afternoons spent poolside with friends and margaritas. The home is furnished beautifully with a southwestern flair throughout. Loved the metal horses at the entry and by the pool, what a great touch. The entry instructions were perfect, not a hitch. Sunsets were incredible as were the sunrises over the Catalina mountains. I had a couple questions and Suzy the owner was quick to respond, she was delightful to deal with. The location was perfect, close to everything I needed including a few great restaurants that were within walking distance. I would recommend this home to anyone with expectations of a wonderful vacation in the desert. I will definitely return but will stay longer next time around. Loved this place.

Casa Serena was a wonderful home. Conveniently located, beautiful mountain and golf course views. Suzy was great to work with and very prompt to answer any questions. Arrival and accessing the property was very easy. We stayed 3 weeks and it really felt like home. Our family was there over Christmas and Suzy even had a small Christmas tree in the home for us. We did not get to use the pool as the weather was very cold, but I hope to return again and take full advantage. Beds are comfortable. Could use a little more living room seating but if the weather is good, you won't be inside and it won't be an issue. Wi-fi was easy to connect and home is beautifully decorated.
