  • Charming

    5 of 5

I rented this cute 1 bedroom apartment for a wedding. The apartment is attached to the main house, with it's own entrance. The grounds and patio are beautiful and had everything we needed. The queen size bed was so comphy and the decor had little retro touches. I love this cute apartment!

  • Cozy, clean, perfect space for two.

    5 of 5

The Colton Cottage met all of our expectations! Clean, comfortable bed. We loved the location - convenient enough to go back and forth to NAU several times and mountain biking just out the door. The kitchen was equipped with all we needed to make a few meals.

  • Wonderful Location for a Family Reunion!

    5 of 5

In July we had a large family gathering in Flagstaff. We stayed at the Colton House complex, renting the Colton House, the Hideaway, and the Cottage. Our stay was wonderful and all three facilities were perfect for our event. All three were clean upon our arrival. All three had everything we needed for meal preparation and overnight comfort. The buildings are cozy and charming. The extra large living room in the main Colton House was a perfect place for our family to gather in the evenings to talk and share memories. Having the Hideaway and the Cottage in addition to the main house gave us the extra sleeping room need for our large group, and also provided a comfortable retreat for family members who needed some quiet time during a busy event. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay at the Colton Complex!

Rented the Hideaway for newlyweds as a surprise. They loved it, especially because they are geologists and the Coleton houses are beautiful rock structures. It is very private yet close to town. Would definitely stay again.

This is an adorable and comfortable place for anyone making a trip to Flagstaff. It is well equipped with everything you need and the location is awesome. Still in Flagstaff but you get the outdoors surrounding you so that you feel a part of nature. The landscape and housing is picturesque. Had a wonderful stay!

  • Great place! Updated enough to meet today's needs but remain authentic.

    5 of 5

The stone floors and wood posts were fantastic! The pictures don't do this place justice. It was better than we had hoped and perfect for a honeymoon. The property had beautiful Mule Deer and squirrels regularly. The gardens had not yet bloomed, but they were greening up and we could see how nice tgey would be once bloomed. We were able to reach the North and South rims of the Grand Canyon, circle the Vermilion Cliffs, got to the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest and Walnut Canyon, as well as spend an evening in downtown Flagstaff. Everyone we ran into in the area were kind and friendly and the Pad Thai at Pato Thai Quizine was fantastic! I highly recommend this place.

  • The Hideaway - a perfect name for this little gem.

    4 of 5

Exquisite, unique, from the past, quaint cottage. Fully equipped kitchen, close to many grocery stores. Appreciated supplies in the kitchen to start off our visit ie. coffee, tea, oil, spices etc. Convenient, quiet and would welcome a repeat visit if ever in the area again. LOVED Sedona and the red rock. Dream of coming back. Note: Upon arrival, after sunset, on initial visit found it difficult to find the cottage.

  • The Hideaway is a lovely, cozy little place to stay.

    5 of 5

I enjoyed my stay at the Hideaway. Simple but completely well equipped and comfortable. I'd recommend this spot to all. Easy access to drive to Grand Canyon, just outside of Flagstaff, a nice quiet secluded place to get away from it all.

  • Wonderful place to experience many points in AZ

    5 of 5

The Hideaway Cottage was a perfect location, just North of Flagstaff, for a family of 3 to relax and plan adventures out to Grand Canyon, Sedona and Flagstaff sites. We spent 6 days there. The surrounding forest was so pretty and deer came to our window early in the morning. The little kitchen was perfect for breakfast and making lunch. We loved everyday there.

  • Unique location

    3 of 5

The location is close to Flagstaff but not within walking distance. Very quiet area. Lots of old charm and character. One of a kind residence. Kitchenware is functional but of the kind you would find in a hostel. Radiant water heating had to be turned up once we arrived and took several hours to warm stone flooring in cool March weather. Some black mold on the ceiling in the tub/shower area. Owner was advised. Minimal spices so be prepared to bring your own. Just salt in a pill bottle and pepper. Other places we have stayed had them supplied so a traveller would not have to buy new every place they went. Appliances worked well.

Lovely secluded location, yet convenient to town and access to lots of national parks. The accommodations were very cozy and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Also enjoyed being able to walk around the retreat area, very peaceful.

  • Quaint and perfect!

    5 of 5

The hide away feels like a beautiful doll house! It's the perfect size for the allotted number of people, we had three in our party. The building has a very well cared for feeling and truly holds a very warm and inviting energy. I loved being in that space, thank you for the opportunity to stay!

  • Romantic and historic ...

    5 of 5

Loved staying at the Hideaway at the Colton House. Perfect and cozy for two. Quick access to downtown Flagstaff, short drive to Oak Creek Canyon/Sedona, and relatively close to the South Rim. It felt like we were in the middle of the woods, but still close to great restaurants and activities. Would stay here again!

  • Serene, quiet, gorgeous!

    5 of 5

We hate to share this because we want to keep it all to ourselves, but if you want all the peaceful beauty of stone and pine, bright starry quiet nights, coyotes, rabbits and squirrels, with the convenience of the best pizza and coffee just down the street, this is the place! Beautiful!

  • Peaceful and quiet - great location

    4 of 5

We loved the location - it was out of the noise of downtown but not too far away from restaurants and other attractions. There was a family of deer/elk nearby which was a nice surprise. We saw them feeding a couple of times. It was a bit more "rustic" than I would have liked but overall, we enjoyed the whole experience.

  • Charming and Quiet Getaway

    5 of 5

We loved the Hideaway in Flagstaff. The setting was so wooded and quiet, yet you are 3 minutes from downtown. The stone floors and timber ceiling gave it beautiful Arizona character. We took advantage of the free tickets to the Museum of Northern Arizona and enjoyed that very much. I would definitely recommend this cozy and charming hideaway.

We love the little Hideaway. It's clean, comfortable and charming. The location, the quiet, the history, plus free entry to the MNA makes this a go-to choice when we visit Flagstaff....we will never stay anywhere else. The manager, John BIfano is wonderful to work with as well.
