  • Character and comfort

    5 of 5

Our family loves this little house. This is our second stay and we enjoy the quiet, cozy house and the woods out back. It's simple but has all that's really needed. Very comfortable beds too, even the pullout couch. If you like a cozy, less fancy house we recommend it highly.

  • Absolutely perfect! One of the best places we've ever stayed.

  • Wonderful Location for a Family Reunion!

    5 of 5

In July we had a large family gathering in Flagstaff. We stayed at the Colton House complex, renting the Colton House, the Hideaway, and the Cottage. Our stay was wonderful and all three facilities were perfect for our event. All three were clean upon our arrival. All three had everything we needed for meal preparation and overnight comfort. The buildings are cozy and charming. The extra large living room in the main Colton House was a perfect place for our family to gather in the evenings to talk and share memories. Having the Hideaway and the Cottage in addition to the main house gave us the extra sleeping room need for our large group, and also provided a comfortable retreat for family members who needed some quiet time during a busy event. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay at the Colton Complex!

  • Cute Cottage

    5 of 5

My family of four had a lovely stay at the cottage. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable, from a washer and dryer to separate beds for the kids! We loved relaxing on the back patio among the trees when we weren't out and about. This location was a great go between for Sedona and the Grand Canyon for us, and we enjoyed sightseeing around Flagstaff as well. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Great Getaway!

Lovely historic cabin in a quiet location. We Ubered back and forth to town for dinner. The Museum of Northern Arizona passes are a nice bonus.

  • Private and quiet.

    5 of 5

Colton Cottage is a great place to stay. It is just north of Flagstaff, on the way to Grand Canyon, etc. The setting is woodsey and there is no road noise at all. There are trails close by and downtown is less than 10 minutes. Kitchen is fully stocked, laundry includes detergents, bathroom includes shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The unit is a 2 bedroom, although you have to walk through one to get to master. I would highly recommend.

  • quiet, calm & beautiful

    5 of 5

Very nice vacation rental. Good location away from the bustle of Flagstaff yet convenient to shopping, downtown and easy access to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, etc. Good for small family as there's one bathroom and access to one bedroom is through the other. Kitchen is nicely outfitted with everything you need + a gas grill.

    5 of 5

I booked this adorable cottage for a few nights for myself, mom, sister and 1 year old niece visiting from Chicago for the holidays. It was the perfect little cozy cottage for us and we really felt at home! We made soo many fun memories there and can't wait to visit there again soon! Highly recommend this.cottage for a quiet comfortable stay tucked away in the woods!!!

  • Beautiful historic structure In a very relaxing forest atmosphere.

    4 of 5

Just like home , everything we needed was provided. Only complaint was our parking area was taken and one of our vehicles was blocked in and not able to be moved by an event held at the Colton house, other than that I would have rated my stay five stars.

  • Perfect home base for visiting sites near Flagstaff

    5 of 5

We loved our stay in the cottage. It was private but only a 5 minute drive from Flagstaff. This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay with everything we needed for our weeklong visit. The back patio was great.

  • Beautiful!

Loved being secluded in a state park, yet so close to Flagstaff. Woke up to deer out the back window. Felt very safe and secure. Home was perfect size, clean and well kept. Would love to stay here again one day!

The cottage is fully equipped and accommodated Grandparents and their children and granddaughter. A beautiful location, patio, and grounds. We loved our time here.

  • It's ... OK

    3 of 5

The house has only 1 bathroom. Obviously, we knew this going into it, but I think it's tough to find a setup where people need that many beds but are also OK with one bathroom. It's just not ideal. You do also have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. So you end up either with 4-5 people that have to share a bathroom and walk through each other's sleeping spaces, or just 2 people who have way too much room and way too many beds. This unit, while definitely and decidedly adorable (and with a nice view out the back window), simply lacks the character and grandness of the other related units (my family rented all of the Colton properties - Cottage, Retreat, Colton House, and Hideaway - for the weekend). It probably shouldn't cost the amount that it does when you compare it to the notably better but similarly priced properties surrounding and including Colton House. No true complaints - it was comfortable and served our purposes well enough. But I felt a little bad for the family members that rented this one since they were paying still a lot for the least-impressive home. It is still a sweet, cute space, and certainly still surrounded by gorgeous views and cool outdoor opportunities.

  • Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stop for more than one night in Flagstaff.

    5 of 5

We, a family of five, loved every minute of our stay at the cottage. It is a very charming property on a beautiful location in the forest on the edge of town. It is an excellent base to get to the Grand Canyon and explore Flagstaff and surroundings. The cottage is clean and has most of the necessary amenities (a few extra pans could be helpful for those who do their own cooking). There is no cable (you can access Netflix and similar services) but spending the evenings outside on the terrace is much more enjoyable. Deer visit regularly, much to the delight of our children. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stop for more than one night in Flagstaff.
