  • Excellent views, lovely home, comfortable stay, great host!

    5 of 5

We were so lucky and delighted to have found this gem of a house. We moved from Cleveland and had an extended 6 week stay. It was perfect for our first Tucson “home” with location and magnificent views (from every window). The home was very clean and stocked full with household goods. We enjoyed sunset after sunset and couldn’t jump in the pool fast enough. Our host was extra kind, helpful, organized and accessible if needed. We loved our stay!

  • Loved the location and quietness.

After attending the Gem and Mineral showcase for visits of less than a week over the last 20 years my wife and I decided it was time to stay in Tucson longer since we have friends there and have recently retired. Also, as geologists we love visiting the show and my wife's sister who is a silversmith joined us to purchase gems. When I first applied for the this place last spring there was a hold on it but later was able to rent it for three weeks, I must say that of the HomeAway rental we have stayed in this is in the top tier. We loved the location, the quietness, and the privacy. The house was clean and well maintained plus the kitchen was stocked with just about everything needed for the extended stay. The location is perfect as it is between several shopping areas and easy access to downtown as well as the Interstate. The laundry facilities are a nice touch since we did have to look up a laundromat. The pool is not heated and being February understandably cold though it did warm enough towards the end to get in for a short period. The Spa is solar heated and again, being February, did not warm up much. Communicated with the owner and she indicated that the solar heating system would be improved this summer (2017). Ms. Priess, the owner, was responsive to that and other e-mail queries, usually answering the same day. A friend from Texas who is an avid birder joined us for a couple of days and we enjoyed the backyard and local as well other sites for birding. Side trips to Catalina State Park, about 10 miles up the road, and out to the Desert Museum were undertaken. A highlight trip was a drive down to Whitewater Draw to see over 20,000 Sandhill Cranes and other water birds. Highly recommended if you are a birder. And as a bonus, the drive takes you through Tombstone for a touristy stop. We will definitely stay here again if it is available during our time frame.

  • Well worth it!

This home was fantastic. It stocks everything needed...and more! The beds were very comfortable. Water pressure in showers was terrific! Just enough coffee, laundry and dish soap to get us started which was nice considering we arrived at night. The coffee grinder was a special bonus. Sunrise over the pool with a fresh cup of java was amazing! Sharon was absolutely accommodating. We had very few needs, but anything we mentioned was taken care of immediately. What a gem of a place! We will definitely rebook!

  • Enjoyable Stay

Situated in a small quiet cul de sac. Private. Nice neighbors. Close to town. Fairly priced. My only negative comment is that new patio chairs are needed.

  • beautiful location in Tucson AZ

I can not say enough about this lovely home, location and beautiful mountain views. My daughter and I enjoyed every minute touring the area, seeing the cactus in bloomers and a very special side trip to the Biosphere 2 buildings . This home was clean, in a private setting and very well furnished. It was so peace full to sit outdoors at night and count the stars, the pool was a great treasure to have so close in the back yard, and it was a life saver on the 90+ degree afternoons. Definitely another visit is on our books.
