  • Wonderful.... in so many ways... we will be back.

    5 of 5

This cabin was perfect in so many ways. I'll double those five stars and make it ten! It's located a few miles from Payson where we discovered a great little restaurant - 703 on Main Street - a find almost as perfect as the cabin! Go and enjoy! There are no downsides to this stay, however, it would be nice if the hot tub had screening options for privacy - the kind where you can raise the screen up from the floor to allow for open sky and mountain views.

  • Awesome Rustic Cabin

    5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this awesome rustic cabin for our anniversary. The cabin is decorated with an old rustic western ranch theme with all modern appliances and air conditioning. The cabin was very clean and homey. There are a lot of DVD's in the TV cabinet to choose from if you want to watch a movie. The only thing we did not like is there were no blinds to cover the window on the front door.

  • Cozy and Comforable

    5 of 5

Wonderful little cabin just enough far away, but close to conveniences. Payson is about a 15 minute drive. The appliances are great, and the grill was a dream. Make sure you take a walk down the road and enjoy the gorgeous terrain. A trip to the Tonto Natural Bridge National Park is amazing too! Internet worked great and beds were cozy. A few things to note: the neighbor's dog barks off and on in the mornings and during the day. When sleeping in the bottom bedroom, you can hear everything going on in the upstairs loft. The fan and artificial plants could use a good clean.

  • Quiet and peaceful

    5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The best vacation we have had in a very long time. We were able to take very long walks and just enjoy the scenery. The most enjoyable for my wife were the cows that came into the yard. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Two thumbs up. Hope to see you again next year.

  • A DIAMOND IN THE RUFF!

    5 of 5

This place is a true Diamond in the Ruff, let me explain. The cabin/house has everything your normal home has, it's decor is old west, with vintage trinkets here and there. Leather couch (very comfortable), King bed, fully stocked with kitchen utensils. Tile work & wood work is impressive, and adds to the places charm. The view from the porch gives way to a beautiful sunsets, these are the things that make up the Diamond portion. For the Ruff, you need not load up your toy hauler and go anywhere else, you simply travel from the cabin and head out to the trails, there are many to choose from. The property offers amply space to move the toy hauler around, so no tight spaces to navigate, and its a secure location to boot. Payson is only 11 miles north, and from there, trails galore, just a great place to play in the forest. We never did meet Mark, but thats ok, everything worked as expected, and he gave us our privacy. Lots of wild life just off the porch, so bring a good camera, and have the time of your life. Thank you Mark for sharing this Great Cabin, in the choice location of yours.

  • Convenience + beautiful views!

    4 of 5

Definitely had a great time and hope to visit again. Amazing views of the mountains and uncommonly great convenience inside the cabin with up to date appliances, big fridge, responsive AC, clean rooms, awesome shower, etc. Also just minutes down the road from Payson if you have to hit the grocery store. Great getaway! Not as secluded as expected and would be nice to have an immediate fence around the cabin for dogs. But those aren't dealbreakers considering all the benefits!

  • Property was lovely, set in the middle of a few other homes, but so quiet and relaxing.

    5 of 5

we wanted a quiet place for relaxation and walking the dog. This hit all the marks on our wish list plus some! This is such a cute place and so creatively constructed and appointed. A delightful time. Our only suggestion as folks who went to read and relax would be reading lamps near the chair and one end of the couch. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. Mark was completely absent except when we asked questions. The PERFECT host!!!

  • Perfect cabin!

    5 of 5

We LOVED LOVED our stay at this cabin. There are several houses around it, but it's quiet. The owners were great to work with! The cabin is clean and well maintained. It has rustic decor, but all the amenities that you need. The beds were fairly comfortable. The boys (13 and 7) loved the loft, but it probably wouldn't work for very young children because of the ladder. We loved the gorgeous view with the mountains, especially at sunset. On Sunday morning we got to watch people practice team roping for awhile. There are elk that cross the yard at night. It's nice that it's only 10-15 minutes from Payson, which has Walmart and restaurants. The kids enjoyed the hot tub (side note: if there is wind, the cover tends to blow off even with rocks on top, so be mindful). The tree with the tire swing attracts all kinds of birds, like another reviewer mentioned. There were small red ones, yellow ones, and a woodpecker. The people in the area are super friendly. The Gila Hog BBQ is super close and has great food (I recommend the burnt ends and southern mac n cheese!), so we went there twice (only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for supper). There are lots of great hiking spots nearby. We rented a side by side, went to Sedona (2 hours away), went horseback riding as well. We also went to Fossil Creek waterfall, but you need to print out a permit from online to go, so be prepared ahead of time. I had to print off the permit at walgreens since I didn't do it before we left home. The area is lovely and we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much, Mark!

  • Beautiful cabin close to Payson with wonderful mountain views and incredible night skies.

    5 of 5

Cabin appears rustic but has all modern appliances and updates you could want. A lot of attention was given to interior decor to achieve the look of an old Western cabin, but all modern comfort is also provided. Outdoor activities were restricted by excess heat of the Arizona summer and lack of shade outside. However, the cabin has very efficient AC and was very comfortable inside.

  • Great Cabin

    5 of 5

Gorgeous cabin ,with a hot tub, it was very clean and ready when we arrived . We asked for an early check in at the last minute and Mark was able to get it done. This cabin has beautiful Mountain View’s , but all the amenities of home. Just south of Payson off the beatin path but close enough to enjoy everything that is Payson. Great cabin, Great location. Thanks Mark

  • Clean, comfortable, quaint and updated

    5 of 5

Clean, comfortable and quaint but updated. So much better than most Payson alternatives. Right by off-road ATV trails with rentals just across the highway. In Payson you spend your days outdoors; good to come home to some direct tv, hot (or cold) shower and a comfortable bed. I never rented a place without salt and pepper in the kitchen so be prepared. And the coffee pot is cone. Last several renters guessed basket.

  • Excellent choice near Payson!

    5 of 5

The house was perfectly-designed for our family of 4 and our dog! On the main floor is an open area that includes a kitchen, living room, and dining area, along with a private bedroom for parents and a nicely designed bathroom and laundry area. Up the very cool ladder is a loft with beds for 2-3 children to have their very own open area to play. Our kids love lofts! The outside had plenty of room for the kids and dog to play. The house is only about 10-15 minutes to Payson and tons of outdoor activities/hikes/lakes/creeks in the nearby area. By the way, pretty much EVERYONE in Payson is extremely friendly. We had one minor issue with the A/C (as minor issues can be expected on a week-long rental), but Mark, the owner, responded immediately to take care of it and make sure we were comfortable. Minor problem solved very quickly. We, as a family, highly recommend this vacation rental. Thank you Mark for the wonderful stay and experience. Highly Recommended!

  • Peaceful Retreat

    5 of 5

While it looks like a rustic cabin from the outside, it has every amenity you will need on the inside. Beautifully decorated and very functional. We enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Mazatzal Mountains every day. The location was great, we had easy access to many hiking trails around Payson, and went hiking every day. The big sycamore tree outside the cabin was host to many beautiful birds! we saw Vermillion Flycatchers, Scarlet Tanagers, Yellow Warblers and more... We went to Gila Hoggs BBQ in Rye several times. Mark was very accommodating and we found everything we needed. All the appliances are new and we had a great time. Thank YOU!

We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor of the property. Lots of abundance, nature and love. Our pets enjoyed the stay as well. Beautiful view of sun set, mountains and views. On weekends we relax on porch and we can can see some cowgirls and cowboys practicing at another property. Mark, host, very helpful and knowledgeable about the areas and where to do adventures.

If you are looking for hustle and bustle or nightlife this place is not for you, keep looking. If you are looking for another world and escape this may be what your looking for. • Best cabin stay in AZ!

    5 of 5

Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Loved hearing the rain on the tin roof and watching the monsoons roll in with the wonderful views from the front porch. This cabin had everything we needed. it was rustic enough to have the cabin feel, yet modern enough to stay comfortable (especially the cold AC!). The decor was lovely and the woodwork in the place is to be admired. Would love to stay again!

  • Reconnecting

    5 of 5

When my husband and I were married 26 years ago , a second marriage for both didn't have time and had some deep luggage to get rid of didn't have time for a honeymoon/vacation or even a short week end especially with raising a teenager and a recently graduated high schooler. So this cabin was the perfect choice to reconnect and discover the adventure. Now both in our 70's I can say it was an experience well enjoyed. the cabin was a true dream to me , rustic and just set the scene of a perfect week.

  • Beautiful home and location

    5 of 5

My husband and I are from Delaware and were overwhelmed by the beauty of this location! It was quiet, private, and comfortable. There is another home next to this cabin but there is enough distance and I still felt secluded. This was perfect for a couple. Everything about the home itself is gorgeous and clean. The hot tub was a great plus! The host was easy to get a hold of and very helpful when we couldn't find our way. We chose this location because it was mostly in the middle of pheonix and the grand canyon. We did have to drive long distances to get to most of the locations that we wanted to, but we are also Delawareans so we're not used to having to drive over an hour. But I can't say enough how great this place is! We can't wait to come back!
