  • Great Potential for Excellence

    4 of 5

This condo was very nice in terms of structure and location. The few folks we met in adjacent units seemed nice and safety/security was never in question. However, there were some limitations that if addressed would make for an excellent stay. For context, my wife and I travel extensively related to work and stay in a variety of accommodations. Comparison to those experiences is the context for these comments. Ultimately, the score assigned came down to livability, or lack thereof. For example, all seating in the house for meals was of the "high top" variety. There was not a place that could be used as a decent work area. The mattress in the master bedroom left much to be desired. Kitchen utensils were sparse. Appliances were dated and probably should be replaced. To be fair, they were functional. Technically there was cable but the offerings were consistent with broadcast tv. Apparently, internet was available but we do not use systems with unknown security parameters. Basic maintenance, such as smoke detector batteries, should consistently have preventative maintenance performed. The parking lot was repaved during our stay which essentially forced us into the hotel for a night due to facilitation of work obligations. That is not a fault of the owners. In fact, I did speak with the owners briefly and exchanged a number of messages related to rental and other issues. They seemed liked nice people and were willing to attempt to address issues to the extent possible under existing circumstances. In summary, some relatively minor changes could turn this location into a truly great experience. Will concede that some folks may be more impressed than us. However, still suggest that functionality needs to be improved, particularly for relatively extended stays, if this property is to achieve its true potential.

  • Perfect place, perfect location.

We can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay . Beautiful condo with everything we needed. We loved the beautiful location as well. I listened to Great Horned owls and coyotes a number of times calling from over at the botanical garden right across the street! We can see the fountain right from the patio! It’s also only minutes away from McDowell Mountain regional park. That was great as we like to bike up there a lot.
