  • My favorite AZ vacation rental

    5 of 5

Joseph is an excellent host - from the clarity of his instructions to the care he takes in maintaining the unit. It was a pleasure!. Everything exceeded expectations. and did I mention the location - a short walk to the Salt Canal and you are surrounded by Papago park. Definitely a winner based upon 5 years of winter renting.

  • Clean & Convenient

    3 of 5

Three stars because I've stayed in various condos in the Tempe area and for the price point at which this was listed, it comes in as average. Pros: 1. Great location- you are near ASU and great hiking, but not in the traffic jam sections. 2. The condo complex is nice- you feel like you are in a professional setting. 3. The pools look nice- but not heated so we didn't try them. 4. Owner was available via phone to answer questions. 5. Good wifi coverage throughout the unit. Cons: 1. Minor conveniences were missing- such as no paper towels in the kitchen. About 1/2 of the lights in the living room were missing or burned out. When we entered, we stumbled about in the dark trying switches. 2. Mattresses are not comfortable and the master bedroom queen seemed on the small side 3. No cable- we were unable to watch Monday night football on ESPN. My teenage son was not thrilled. 4. Check-in instructions didn't highlight WHICH unit in the complex (It was only in an email header) which lead to 45 min of driving around questioning if we were in the correct location. Fortunately the owner immediately answered our call- so it all worked out.

  • For the frugal traveler

    3 of 5

Pros: Great location, close to freeway, airport Quiet complex - didn't hear neighbors at all Two pool options (however they are not heated) Inexpensive option Cons: Close to airport (lots of plane noise) Very outdated condo, not many updates No cable Uncomfortable beds Very little in the condo re: existing supplies (we had to buy trash bags, paper towels, nothing was there). Cleaning ladies knocked on the door at 9:30am on the day we left, 1.5 hrs before we were supposed to check-out. Had to follow up with the host to get the lock box combination. I think next time we'll spend the extra money and upgrade a bit next time we stay.

  • Nice condo in a great location for Illinois Snowbirds

    5 of 5

We stayed for 6 weeks from end of January to beginning of March as Snowbirds. Photos and other information listed on the website were all accurate to the condo. Everything was as promised. We had our dog and the dog park was only a few blocks away. It was an easy walk to Papago Park with it's trails, playground, etc., and I also walked daily to the Tempe Town Lake area. Condo complex was well lit, and I always felt safe walking with the dog or alone. My husband like the covered parking area. Didn't use any of the 3 swimming pools since I wasn't sure if they were being maintained during the winter and they're not heated, but I did sit there to get the sun or read. The condo was older, but clean and had several new items like the sofa, washer/dryer, water heater, electric tea pot, & coffee pot. Tile and laminated flooring throughout so it was easy to clean. When I asked the owner, Joseph, for new vacuum cleaner filters, he actually brought over a new vacuum cleaner. Also, we had issues with the dishwasher not cleaning right, and he bought and installed a new KitchenAid dishwasher for us. The little courtyard was nice for sitting outside-2 chairs & a table. Beds were very comfortable. Neighbors (and everyone we met in Tempe) were nice. Students upstairs were quiet; we only heard them walking sometimes or moving chairs; never heard the other neighbors. Definitely lots of students in this complex; we were very close to Arizona State University. Also, lots of other dog owners-good way to meet people. Downtown Tempe was a short drive away with shops, bars, and restaurants. We were also close to the highway and it was easy to get to local attractions. Arizona Historical Museum, Desert Botanical Garden and Phoenix Zoo were all in the Park; very close by. Scottsdale was straight north for our sightseeing there. Tempe Marketplace Mall was a great close by place to see a movie, go shopping or catch the free shuttle for a Cubs game at Sloan Park. Minor Cons: The faucets were old and dripped (Joseph was going to have a plumber fix them), and the refrigerator was old and quite small but it worked fine (probably big enough for a short visit but we bought groceries and cooked most meals in the condo so it seemed small). TVs, cable and internet worked well. We would definitely rent this condo again, or recommend it to friends.

  • Nice rental, good location

    4 of 5

We chose this place for its location near family, but it would be good for anyone visiting the Phoenix area. Joseph is a great guy to work with, and I would rent from him again. As others have mentioned, this place could use some updating...a coat of paint, maybe even on the cabinets, would help a lot. Also more towel racks in the master bath. the washer and dryer are brand new and I really liked them ! As previously stated, Joseph is a great person to rent from, and we definitely consider staying here again.

  • Great place, price, and location!

    5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our dog for 3 nights. We were very pleased with the place. The size was perfect for us and with the additional bedroom and bathroom would have easily worked for another couple. Living room: Furniture is leather and comfortable enough for a rental. TV is decent and worked with our Amazon Fire just fine. Good selection of books, magazines, and other entertainment for lounging available as well. Kitchen: Good sized kitchen with all necessary appliances. Silverware, dishes, wine glasses, etc ample enough and in good shape. We wish there had been condiments but realize that they would go bad without regular changing out by owner so understandable. Bathrooms: The quality of towels was exceptional, way better than a hotel! There were even small bottles of lotion/bodywash/shampoo. The water pressure and temperature were great, was very pleased and it was easy to wash/rinse my waist length hair. Comes with a blow dryer as well. Ample closet space and nice full length mirrors in master bath. Bedrooms: Master bedroom was big with ample storage and closet space. Bed was not the most comfortable (we do have a tempurpedic at home so I might be biased...) but good enough for a short stay away from home and big enough to for two people. Internet equipment was in this room as well as a desk. Wifi worked great and the desk was nice to be able to sit at. Guest bedroom we didn't sleep in but was very cute and decently sized. Outdoors: The small gated front yard was great size for our small dog and there was even a dog park a block down the road we walked to every day. Nice kept up property grounds as well. The parking is covered for one spot and across the drive uncovered for the other spot. Both close enough to the apartment and had respectful neighbors (no door dings, yay!) The property is not a new property and does show its age. However, if you are looking for functional, decent price, decent size, and easy to work with owner then its an excellent choice. If you care about minor cosmetics more than the list above then you should probably look elsewhere and pay double or more. Why you would want to do that is beyond me though. Overall we were very happy with our stay and very pleased with the large accommodations and pet friendly option. The proximity to many areas was a plus and the area was pretty quiet and easy enough to sleep in or take naps. Thanks for such a great vacation!

  • Papago Park

    4 of 5

Pluses; property was clean, well stocked with little stuff like coffee, toilet paper, soap, etc. Wireless worked flawlessly. Air conditioner functioned well (critical). Location was excellent for our needs (ASU). The owner was prompt and accurate with information we needed to check in (which went very smoothly late night Friday). Minuses; the larger complex is a bit dated, has the campus (worn) feel, the unit itself felt a little cold (a couple of area rugs could probably solve). Front entry patio was barren, run down. We opted not to use the pool area (it wasn't that inviting and it was 110 degrees). Seasonal road construction was bad (not the fault of the apartment owner but warning would have been nice). The cleaning fee seems a bit high, but probably the going rate. Summary; I'd stay there again, but would be inclined to compare other options also. Suggestions; area rugs as mentioned and a helpful book with area groceries, gas, restaurants, etc. Also for those of us not used to AC all night, a few more blanket options in the cupboard is nice to have.
