  • Wonderful Surprises!

    5 of 5

Like the mountain in the background, this home is an exceptional place from which to explore the natural beauty of the Tucson area. The surprise missing from this photo was a javelina which wandered up to the patio and then fed on the birdseed for about twenty minutes. We northeners had never seen such a creature and were very happy to be safely up close and personal for such a long time. Another surprise was how creatively the home owners in Tucson Estates, create their front gardens. Beautiful and low maintenance! We would not change a thing about our stay at Casa Verde. Thank you so much.

  • Warm, quiet, peaceful - Perfect

We will come back. The house and surrounding neighborhood houses are all attractive desert / Santa Fe style homes. Great hikes are right you your front door. The community pool is big and never crowded.

  • Quiet and Relaxing vacation

    5 of 5

Our stay was fabulous! The house was clean and lived up to description & advertising. We stayed in the same home 2 other times & have always been pleased in every respect! There is a salt water pool a couple of blocks from the house, a wonderful treat at the end of a day, and very few others swimming at that time! Thanks for everything! It was absolutely perfect for us! :)

  • Best Place to Stay in Tucson-SIX out of Five Stars

    5 of 5

This house exceeded our expectations a million times over! The house is very clean, all bedrooms furnished nicely, kitchen had all amenities I needed to cook, clean, etc. The location is SUPERB! Tucson Estates is a very very nice community. The community pool was fabulous, ping pong table provided a lot of fun for my kids. What we loved the best was being able to walk right out our door and explore the desert on the many trails! We were able to see a jack rabbit on our explorations-signs of a lot of other wildlife as well. In our backyard we saw the little pig family and the quail family. My son saw a coyote and spotted a tarantula as well! While in Tucson we went horseback riding in the Saguaro National Park, shopped 4th Avenue, visited the Desert Museum and Nightfall at the Old Tucson Studio. I had teenagers and they enjoyed their stay very much! I strongly encourage anyone wanting to get a taste of the desert, enjoy a peaceful stay in a fabulous home, to stay here! I would stay here again and again!!! Thank you for providing this home so we could have such an enjoyable experience!

  • Perfect house in the perfect location

    5 of 5

The house is extremely spacious and spotless clean, the kitchen well equipped and the owners very pleasant to deal with. The neighborhood is very well maintained, safe and quiet. We had heard about the trails at the end of the street but did not realize how many there were. It is truly hiking or mountain biking paradise! Some trails are easy and flat, others climb hills for magnificent views. There were maps in the house but we downloaded the app TrailForks to know where we were while hiking as there are so many trails! The birds and the wild life are abondant both in the back yard and on the trails (we did not encounter anything dangerous). Grocery is about 15-20 minutes by car but a corner store is handy at the entrance of the subdivision. Lots to visit in the area: Kitt Peak, Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park, Mission San Xavier, Tubac, downtown Tucson, etc. In fact so much to see that we never made it to the other (east) side of Tucson. The pool is a very nice size and just a short walk away. We were very sad to leave.

  • Peaceful, quiet, great location

    4 of 5

We stayed for 17 days. Weather was cool and rainy much of the first week, so it helped that the house was very comfortable and well appointed. Then the weather greatly improved and it was really nice that we could walk out the door, across the road and go walking onto trails in Tucson Mountain Park. Two house glitches were quickly taken care of by the property manager. Basic shopping is available nearby and a great new Fry's supermarket is within easy reach. Lots of birds, including Annas hummingbirds, and several javelina visits in the backyard. We would certainly consider going back.

  • We will go back!

    5 of 5

This is a fabulous VRBO. We will be back. Situated next to the Tucson Mountain Park, the hiking possibilities are endless. The house itself is very nice and clean, and lives up to its pictures. Beauty and wildlife are all around. We used this as a home base to do things on the west side of Tucson including going to the mission nearby, the Buenas Aires Wildlife Refuge (an hour south), to Tubac, and to the Sonoran Desert Museum. We also loved just spending time on the patio watching birds and bunnies. The owners and local manager are very nice and welcoming.

  • Birder's Delight

    5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 weeks in this desert home. The house is lovely and the hosts were very accommodating. The location is great for relaxing, hiking, and sightseeing. I am an avid birder and the yard birds were a delight! We enjoyed walking out the door to hike in Tucson Mt. Park. We hope to come back next winter.

  • You won't want to leave

    5 of 5

We arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon to a wonderland of wildlife, a spectacular mountain view, and a spotless, cozy home, a perfect escape from the frozen north. We hiked every morning in the park, the trailhead just a 2-minute walk from our front door. We watched javalinas run through the yard, quail, dove, and bunnies graze on birdseed in the backyard, and any number of cactus and canyon wrens, woodpeckers, and flickers and hawks visit "our" saguaro and feeders. We loved having morning fires in the fireplace and evening sunsets on the patio. We were so close to the Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park (not to be missed) and felt the house met our every need. Golden Gate Mountain put on a show for us every sunrise, and we were even treated to a rainbow one morning. A truly perfect place to spend as much time as you can, and you'll leave wishing for more. Thank you, Sue and Jon and Jill!

  • wow - really incredible location and home

    5 of 5

What a spectacular, quiet, exquisite location. Literally 50 feet from the front door, you can hike into raw desert that is loaded with beautiful hiking trails. Right near Saguaro National Park and the Desert Museum (a must see). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The home has a slightly open floorplan with some openings near the ceiling between the living room and bedroom (probably for air flow), so sound carries easily. If you plan to travel just as a couple, will work out fine. With a larger group, you'll want to be sure everyone is on the same noise level agreement. :) The photo showing the back yard is totally accurate. We spent lots of time watching birds right out the window. Saw an owl one night, loads of hummingbirds, and much more. Home is very well-appointed and spacious. Couldn't recommend this more highly.
