  • This was our second stay at the ranch. We loved it last year and liked it even better this year.

    5 of 5

This is a true ranch experience with horses, dogs, cats and all the wildlife nature offers. We love the peacefulness of the place and a feeling of home style comfort. The host, Meg, goes out of her way to ensure a good stay.

  • Mixed feelings about this rental

    2 of 5

We felt the house/property was basically as we expected. However, we felt the owner misrepresented the number of dogs ...and type of dogs that would be free roaming on the property. We had obtained approval for us to bring our dog with us...she is a small (under 40# French Brittany spaniel) dog. On our 2nd day there, our dog was attacked by one of her rather large dogs. She received a bite which became infected needing treatment. The total dog count at one point was 7. After our complaints she did keep her dogs under control but it dampened our stay as we were constantly on our guard. The owner never offered an apology while we were there...but sent us a text message on our way home. If you have a pet...or do not like "lots" of dogs, we would not recommend staying here. Another footnote about the house...the information says that it is wheelchair accessible...it is not. The "fitness room" is an exercise bike sitting in the living room area. If you are considering renting this property you should probably have a serious conversation with the owner about your expectations.

  • Ranch living at its best!

    5 of 5

The property was as advertised. A true ranch-living experience. Owners animals were all friendly, on-site bird watching an added bonus. We loved it.

  • Rustic and fun

    5 of 5

We loved the ranch, the night sky, fire pit, and the dogs(Abbey, Titus, Wrigley) and the cats(Louie visits the most). Proximity to Saguaro NP makes it location, location, location. My teens put down their phones for a while! Meg has a great place. Eclectic and artsy meets the Southwest.

  • Perfect stay in Tucson

    5 of 5

We stayed at Meg's ranch house for eight days and enjoyed it very much. The location was key to us, as we wanted to be near the Tanque Verde area, and not too far a drive from Vail, where a family member lives. The house has three comfortable bedrooms and two large family room areas, both with tons of seating, and one with a large dining table. There are probably one hundred or more movies to watch and a large screen TV with cable. There is a little Koi pond in one of the family rooms and a very large birdhouse with two adorable lovebirds. The kitchen is *very* well stocked, and Meg told us to help ourselves to anything in the fridge or pantry. You will also have access to an LG washer and dryer. Meg's house is like a museum, with so many wonderful things to look at. She has collected western and Asian artwork, textiles, and collectibles and you can spend hours looking at all the treasures. The outside of the property is spectacular. There are no neighbors within viewing distances, which affords you a lovely sense of privacy. There is a firepit (which was well stocked) and three outdoor seating areas, including a large, square picnic table. There is also a small manmade pond with a bridge and a stable with two horses which were very friendly and loved to be fed the carrots and hay waiting for them. The house is in the Saguaro National Monument, and the abundance of Saguaro, Ocotillo, Prickly Pear, Barrel, Cholla, and other cacti is really gorgeous. You will see quail, roadrunners, mourning doves, and cactus wren all day long. In fact, the birdsong throughout the day is really beautiful. There are three dogs and two cats on the property, all living outside. They are super friendly and my two children and niece and nephew had a blast spending a ton time with them. If you'd like a secluded, spacious, eclectic, natural, outdoorsy place to stay, this is the one for you!

  • Wonderful stay in desert paradise

    5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in Meg's home and the location and outside space was wonderful for hiking and relaxing amid the desert and wide open skies. Meg was very personable and welcoming to us. The beds were very comfortable for good night sleeps. We loved hiking nearby into the trails in the park. We would stay here again
