  • A relaxing little spot in Glendale.

    4 of 5

My husband, in-laws, and I chose this condo to stay in for our last trip to the Phoenix area to visit family. This also wasn't our first stay in Thunderbird Paseo, as we previously stayed in another unit. The layout of the condo was great. You walked into the living area (dining room, kitchen, and living room). You noticed right away that the furnishings had a relatively modern feel to them, and that the room was lit to a level that you wanted it to be. The kitchen feels as if it were recently refreshed, with granite counters, modern appliances, and bright lighting. The dishwasher, in particular, was a bright spot - most condos and hotels you stay in have loud units, where this one was whisper quiet. The bedrooms were comfortable. The master bedroom was rather large, with plenty of closet space and a comfortable bed. There is actually room for another person or two to crash in there should that become necessary. The second bedroom was also of a decent size. Both rooms featured queen-sized beds that were comfortable. Both showers did their jobs well. The unit, overall, felt well-maintained. In terms of other amenities, the pool and hot tub were just as nice as I remember them, the charcoal and gas grills throughout were still there and still clean, and parking was still easy to get in and out of. This condo also opened to a better view of the park running behind the complex than the other unit did. This condo comes wifi internet and one TV equipped with cable, a DVD player, and a Chromecast media player. The internet speed is adequate, the cable programming lineup is okay, the Chromecast works. The only thing that was a major problem for us during our stay was the noise level of the air conditioning. It was very loud, to the point where we would constantly turn the volume of the TV up and down as it cycled on and off. Access to attractions isn't bad at all. You're about 20-30 minutes from downtown and Sky Harbor, a few hours from the Canyon, and the Arizona Canal Trail actually runs behind the complex. You also have two supermarkets and a number of restaurants within walking distance. All in all, I recommend staying at Thunderbird Paseo to anyone staying in the Phoenix area. It's comfortable and quiet.
